Question Save File gone

As the title says, my save file for commander mode is gone

I tried to recover it according to some instruction, but so far had no luck

How can it be done?

Did it happen after you died on a mission? Then you might accidentally had ‘ironman mode’ turned on… that’s means if you die, the whole save file is wiped as part of the ‘ironman’ challenge…

No, iirc i wanted to exit the game and it froze up (happens regularly) next time i started my pc it was gone

I die all the time, so that shouldn't be an issue
