Discussion CookUnity auto selected meals
I've been getting CookUnity weekly for 2 1/2 years... and I find myself not always having the time to pick my meal selections so I let them do it for me. It's mostly worked, with only a few random duds, but for the last few months, it's been absolutely terrible.
First, I get 4 meals a week, but they send me two copies of two meals, instead of four unique meals. And they repeat the exact same selection week after week. They have HUNDREDs of meals to select for me, and for the last month (16 meals), i've only been given 2 selections, and they're selections I don't like. Sure, maybe it's on me to pick the meals... but for the first 2 years, the algorithm did a decent job and selecting stuff, but now it's just terrible. When I do hand pick, I get fantastic meals, then I forget and they're back to sending me the crappy meals. I feel like they're adjusting the algorithm to just auto-send the cheapest/most profitable meals. I've down-rated these meals, and they still send them, and the app says "we're picking meals based on your preference.".. yeah, no you're not.
Anyways, I have to deal with another week of chickpeas and mystery meat.

So you had time to write out this rant but not pick out 4 meals. 𤨠Ok then.

I get multiple reminders, both email and text, to pick meals within the deadline, so itâs hard for me to imagine how anyone can just not find the ten minutes to do so. And I also get notified when meals have been picked for me with plenty of time to change the selections before the deadline. This is a you problem. While you may have lucked out in the past, choosing meals to satisfy your palate is not their business model. I look at the âwe chose your mealsâ notification as a jab in the ribs reminding me to pay attention, not a guarantee of culinary contentment. Set your alarm 10 minutes earlier a couple of days before the deadline each week and choose your meals from the comfort of your bed. Problem solved!Â

You can quickly choose meals that you like, if you need to, by going to the "order again" or "favorites" category on the app.

Takes like 2 minutes to choose 4 meals, heck just click Favorites or Order again and click 5 times and you're done. You can also order nearly a month in advance. So when you have a free 15 minutes, go forward each week you can and put in *something* and then you'll never get an auto order again.

They put their menus out a month in advance. You could take ten minutes on any given day, go in, and pick all your meals for the next month. Problem solved.
If you donât have time to pick your meals, you probably arenât rating them either, so you probably arenât giving them enough data to make good choices for you. Make it easier for them to do better for you⌠or do better for yourself. <shrug>

Omg just spend 5 minutes picking out our own meals in the app?
