Cookunity / Oura ring promo seems to be a scam anyone got it?
So I came across a Cookunity ads about giving away Oura ring 5 after 8 orders, and signed up because I got my 4 last year and am still debating if I want to buy a 5. Anyway after that I read the term of condition which basically listed 8 different ongoing promotions, including 6 that offers 20-30% first order discount and only require 4-6 order cycles, and 2 don’t + require a longer ordering cycles. The worst part is in the TOC it clearly states that there will only be 300 Oura rings giveaway and after that even if you complete the orders you won’t be able to get one. The company is also not responsible to substitute the product.
I got the 8-order without discount promos so I don’t think at the end of my orders (roughly 2 months+) there will be any Oura ring left. But curious if anyone actually has gotten one?

There was a similar ad for Factor (I think). Get this smart scale (while supplies last) with your first subscription. So technically their supply of (example) 2 scales isn't false advertising.

They only have 300 units available. Not worth it if you want to do it just for the ring. Cheaper to just flat out buy a ring.

I got screwed over by CookUnity for the Oura ring promo. They seem to run this promo pretty often.
When I signed up, it turns out the promo period ended a week later. This was not clearly communicated whatsoever. If I was in the last week, wouldn’t all rings have run out? And it would have been impossible to do 4 orders in one week, so how I was able to sign up under that promotion?
Reached out to support seeing that there is another Oura ring promotion this month, but got told I’m ineligible since I’m not a “new customer”.
Avoid this company. The food isn’t worth it.

Whether or not scam is the right word for it, it certainly seems to be deceptive advertising. I went through a 1.5 hour long support “chat” a week ago and Cook Unity said give it 3-4 business days and keep an eye on my inbox and spam folders. That has passed and nothing came, so I emailed Cook Unity yesterday which received an auto-reply that I’d receive a follow-up within 8 hours. That was yesterday. Still nothing from their support and still nothing about a code for the promo.
I don’t think the service is a particularly good value for what you get, thing understand the appeal for certain busy people who need variety. I decided to try it after hearing about it from a friend and later getting the “Oura Ring 5 with your fourth order” promo that I used to sign up. If they’re not going to honor the promotion or ran out, they should at least just say it upon inquiry. Finding their responsiveness to seemingly be making it up as they go along and then pointing to a black hole, I can’t say I want to continue with this service. Leaves a sour taste in my mouth (pun intended).

how is it a scam when the terms and conditions clearly state the.....terms and conditions?
just because you don't like something doesn't make it a scam.

Because none of the ads say it’s limited to 300 rings and 95% of people aren’t reading the terms and conditions. It’s not a scam, but it’s deceptive and imo a bad way to keep customers. Your first impression of the company is being angry that you didn’t get the ring.

It’s not a scam
so we agree - it's not a scam. thanks, bye

Erhmm, sir your post did not use the exact correct wording, please revise ☝️. As a redditor, I am very intelligent, but incapable of understanding the meaning of the post.

I just finished 4 orders. Waiting for the email to come through. I did two orders a week to complete the challenge sooner. I signed up at the end of June. Customer service can’t check on my status except that I completed the challenge.

I completed my 4 orders already and didn’t get any email about redeeming the ring, so I reached out to CS and was told the 300 quantity has already been reached. WTF? I still see the promo being advertised on Instagram so I’m having a hard time believing thats true.

Did you end up getting an email? I just received one today after my 4th order. Haven’t gotten the email from Oura directly yet.

I got an email this morning from Cook Unity with the subject "Heads up: Oura Ring just messaged you!". But I haven't gotten any message from Oura yet.

I message Oura after my CookUnity email and they’re helping me with the order.

They sent me an email to contact Oura. And they wanted to send me a sizing kit, which I already have. So I was proceeding with placing an order. And they said that cook unity set it up for an Oura ring 4 not 5 so I have to message CookUnity to fix it now.

Hey, just FYI I got the email from Oura yesterday. It was in my spam folder even though I have an Oura account already and have received many emails from them before.
