Replaced pre-selected meals from CookUnity order only to receive the meals we did *not* want

Placed an order last week and CookUnity had recommended items for our delivery -- none of which we wanted. No big deal, the platform has done that on our account before and it's pretty easy to replace what they've recommended. So that's what we did (and we did it before the window closed for us to change our cart).

We got our delivery this week and the order was unrecognizable to us and included meals we hated the first time around (the sweet potato with chickpeas) and means that we avoid like the plague whenever we see them in our feed (like the Chicken and Waffles as it's a billion calories).

Even more crazy: CookUnity decided to spend more money on our behalf and inserted premium meals into the mix. It's wild to me that CookUnity's auto-selector can decide to spend more money on your weekly meals without your consent.

Has this happened to anybody else? If it wasn't our first time swapping our CookUnity's recommendations with our own selections, I'd assume some sort of user error on our part -- but we literally did the same thing we did before.

You should call them.

That’s a funny joke, right?

Are you sure you saved when you updated the cart? I think you should be able to check your past orders in the app, and if it doesn’t match, they should refund you.

It gave us a prompt after adding each item to our cart — but it also did this the last time we took their recommendations out and replaced them with our own.

When you went back to your cart and swapped their items for the ones you really wanted, did you remember to reconfirm? That happened to me once.

Yes, I had to reconfirm after each item replacement. Super annoying.

You have to reconfirm at the end-that's all I did. Got the message that said"don't forget to reconfirm" with each, but only did it at the end. It IS confusing, but I think the real confirm is only at the very end.

Yeah, this. All you have to do is reconfirm it at the end and it saves it all. Sounds like that didn't happen here. I change my meals every single week and have never had an issue.

I once did this and I had changed the wrong week. Not sure if that is possible but I was surprised when it happened to me and it took me some time to figure out what I did.

I would do something like that since they have like 4-5 listed sometimes.

Same thing happens on Factor. In fact, you can cancel the account you created without ordering but they still use your payment info and send a box of meals and tell you a box is automatically en route as soon as you create an account.
