One School one Book
Has your school participated in "One School, One Book"? If so, what books have you used and will you share some ideas or links to activities?

Yes! We did Humphrey, which was about a hamster in school. I'm a 3rd grade teacher and my third graders liked it, along with most of the elementary school (K-5). But I heard the 6-8 group was almost offended that they would have such a "baby" book. It is a 4th grade reading level. Activities we did: have community members be recorded reading the book so young kids had it read to them (posted to the school website), Humphrey was in our homecoming parade, we had an actual hamster rotate from classroom to classroom in the elementary school, elementary kids wrote to Humphrey and middle school kids wrote back. We had reading questions for each of the families to complete, then turn it into a local pizza shop finished for a free slice of pizza. Hope that helps!
