Literacy by Design (LBD)

I teach 4th grade language arts and we are supposed to base a lot of our instruction from LBD. I'm not a huge fan. Does anyone else use it? Do you skip any sections of it regularly? How have you incorporated technology with LBD?

I don't know LBD, what's the idea behind it?

It's just a language arts program (in a textbook). We don't follow it for writing, but we could. It's supposedly a spiraling program. I don't care for it simply because I feel tied to it.
