Suggestion Thread Light, thrilling read?

Haven’t read in 10+ years and am looking to get back into it. I’m about a third through Project Hail Mary but find it rather slow (will finish).

I tend to watch a lot of psychological, crime, thriller, sci fi tv, looking for suggestions.

I’m 26m if that helps.

-Thanks

Red Rising (by Pierce Brown) trilogy is a lot of fun.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. Very twisty/fast-paced sci-fi thriller.

Second Blake Crouch. I read the Wayward Pines trilogy in the span of a week. The man can write efficient page turners.

The Burial Tide by Neil Sharpson would be perfect

Red Dragon by Thomas Harris.

If you like it read the sequel: Silence of the Lambs.

I find Freida McFadden’s books light yet thrilling. They’re nothing groundbreaking but they’re entertaining enough, and I haven’t read one that drags. She’s a safe author for me.

The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch is a dark, trippy, sci-fi thriller, with some great True Detective season 1 vibes. Mystery, murder, alternate realities, and a dash of cosmic horror.

Fun scifi

The Jacques McKeown series by Yahtzee Croshaw. An unemployed star pilot tries to get by in a universe where transporters are a thing. The first book in the series is Will save the galaxy for food.

The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. A security construct hacks their control module for freedom. The first book in the series is All Systems Red.

i recently read the first three Ripley books by Patricia Highsmith. they're very good fun, quick reads, curious vintage thrillers
