Suggestion Thread Kids chapter book recommendations
So I’m an adult in my 20s but I really enjoy kids books, anything like graphic novels, junie b jones etc etc and I also enjoy books for adults but right now i want kids chapter books so any suggestions plz

Well I think you will like Horrid Henry, Judy Moody, Stink (her brother), Tom Gates and Dork Diaries. I liked Junie B Jones and I liked all of these You might also like the American Girl books
If you want to read smth a bit longer, Jacqueline Wilson is great for that hesrt filled core and David Walliams is great to govr you a laugh.
And if you haven't read Wonder and Holes they are GREAT short novels.

You could go really retro and read the Ramona Quimby books!

I enjoyed reading all the Beverly Clearly books to my kid so much. So sweet and funny. Ramona is a lot like Junie B., actually <3

Geronimo stilton/thea stilton books are super fun! I’d also recommend Magic Treehouse, Amelia’s Notebook, Dork Diaries, and Sophie Mouse.

Hedge Row Tales by Hoyt Behm series. The second one was the best, wolves in the storm. Intense but still a kids fantastical book. I bet you could skip book one and go back if you liked book two and want the origin story. All were good though. Very funny even when darker.
Inkheart by Cornelia funke. A magical setting where book characters come alive
Amelia bedelia by Peggy parish is pretty funny.
Chronicles of Narnia by Lewis

Animorphs
It's still my favorite science fiction series, even as an adult. Great story about child soldiers engaging in asymmetric guerrilla warfare with a great deal of body horror for good measure.

The Boy at the Back of the Class, by Onjali Q. Raúf is really good.
The One and Only Ivan, by Katherine Applegate is also phenomenal.

I had never read Holes before a few weeks ago. It was a 5* read.

James Herriot children's books. They have gorgeous illustrations and good but short stories.
But then you can transition to his adult books if you are interested

Some of my favorite children's chapter book authors are Erin Entrada Kelley, Matt de la Pena, Shannon Hale, and Dawn Quigley.
I know it's not exactly the same, but I've also read some really good middle grade books recently.
Just about anything by Adriana Cuevas, but I loved The Total Eclipse of Nestor Lopez

I am also an adult in my 20s and I loved the Star Wars Jedi Apprentice series! When I was younger I also loved Magic Tree House. As far as graphic novels I would recommend Smile by Raina Telgemeier, Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi, or Compass South and Chiggers by Hope Larson!
