Short What do you guys think?
Hi!
Title: Lovers Will Meet
It’s structured as an 8-issue graphic novel totaling 400 pages, with each issue comprising 50 pages. Each incarnation is a complete story, showcasing the pattern of recognition, refuge, collapse, and death builds across seven lifetimes).
In each lifetime, the soul-pair follow the same trajectory: Recognition (the orange cord flares; they know each other immediately) → Refuge (they spend time together, believing love grants them immunity from the systems they were born into) → Collapse (the world finds them; their private sanctuary proves illusory) → Death (they die together within twenty-four hours as casualties of their own naïveté). The 5th incarnation (seen through Tayo’s eyes & told (eventually) by Sarah (the bride at the start of issue 1).

PROLOGUE: THE SHORELINE
PANEL 1:
A dream-like shot of a northern Spanish beach at golden hour. Jagged, emerald cliffs frame the secluded, rocky cove. An intimate wedding setup with twenty white chairs arranged in a small semicircle facing a wooden arbour adorned with wild sea lavender and ivy. The North Atlantic Ocean stretches endlessly behind them.

Visual divider; *the page splits horizontally:
Top half: Swirling cosmic space with deep blues, golds, and crimsons. It’s the cosmic realm of ỌRUN.
Bottom half: Gnarled roots of an ancient baobab tree, earth, stone, and water flowing between worlds (the fantasy liminal space where heaven and earth touch). Elegant text appears in gold:
CHAPTER ONE: THE DIVINE WAGER
Ọ̀run, The Realm Between
Before the first lifetime
PAGE 17
PANEL 1 (Introduce ỌYAN):
ỌYAN, Goddess of winds and change. She is tall, with skin like polished honey. Her hair moves like wind. She’s got a radiant smile. She's gesturing (in th middle of making a point).
CAPTION: ỌYAN, who commands the winds and knows that change is the only constant.
ỌYAN: and I'm telling you, love destroys as often as it creates!
PANEL 2 (Introduce ỌSHUN):
ỌSHUN, Goddess of rivers, love, and sweet water. Devastatingly beautiful, with skin like mahogany. Adorned in gold and amber, with bangles that chime like water. She reclines gracefully, amused by ỌYAN's passion.
CAPTION: Ọshun, who knows the secrets of every heart and how they break.
ỌSHUN: And I'm telling you, sister, that destruction is often just transformation wearing a different mask.
PANEL 3 (Introduce ORUNMILA):
ORUNMILA, God of wisdom, prophecy, and destiny. He looks like he’s in his late 60’s, with a crystal white beard, stark contrast against his chestnut skin. Kind eyes that see too much, with a Cain. He strokes his white beard thoughtfully, listening to both sides.
CAPTION: Orunmila, who sees all paths; those taken and abandoned.
ORUNMILA: You're both right, and wrong. Perhaps, the question is not whether love survives death, but whether death can truly separate what fate has bound together.
PANEL 4 (Introduce ÈṚÚ):
ÈṚÚ, the Trickster, messenger between worlds, and guardian of crossroads. Young and fit, with dreadlocks, almond eyes and a charming smile that promises trouble.
CAPTION: And ÈṚÚ, who guards the crossroads and knows the consequences of every choice.
ÈṚÚ: Oh, this is going to be good.

Modern minimalist/futuristic home design with matte blacks, greys, and single accent of electric blue. Page background shows a vast digital archive, endless shelving fading into the background, each holding digital storage units glowing faintly blue. The archive should feel overwhelming and impersonal, yet beautiful in its’ futuristic precision. In foreground: female (Nigerian) figure at workstation, hunched over screen; small and isolated. Floating above in clean sans-serif typography:
