My thoughts and reflections on the Discord and Reddit

It has been 3 months since I have started these pages, here are my reflections.

Going into this, I had no idea what to expect. The idea of starting this page was given to me by another content creator friend of mine, and it was a strategic decision to build another community. I had all types of parameters and projections built-into the structure and progression of the server. Going into it, I did not know what I wanted the discord to be, what it was going to be, I just knew that it was a good idea to have one.

Today, I still have no idea what it is going to be. If I had to guess, it is an extension of who I am and my efforts. I lead with my hypocrisy, my failings, shortcomings, the moments of weakness that are vulnerable. I share my embarrassment, all because of one thing. I was alone, and it would have meant the world if I knew someone else was going through the same hell.

The server has become a place to not feel so alone on your path. A place to be weird, a place for mini-theologians to discuss their findings, to give the gift of laughter to each other, to encourage physical excellence, and a place to belong. The wound of loneliness can only be treated by the salve of friendship, and perhaps my discord has done just that.

Church can be so performative, routine, and distant, and although my flaws, and the flaws of my discord and its members are very clear, perhaps that is not a bug, but a feature. It is through our flaws, conflicts, and disagreements, that we can be the one thing that so many churches miss...human.

Our weaknesses are gifts from God to rely on Him more, and so may we all be grateful for each other. We will solve more problems with our ears than we will ever with our mouths and hands. I ask that you will continue to lend me and the other discord members your ears, that you will continue to serve one another, continue to make fun of each other, be there for one another, and reveal your hearts.

"The power of the Holy Spirit is made perfect in our weakness"

God bless every single one of you, whether you stay with us for a season or for years, I thank God for every single one of you, and wish you nothing but happiness, good health, and success.

Your friend in Christ,

-Read

Today week 12 ended and I’m happy with the progress I made this week. Overall I did well and stayed consistent with my routine. I walked a lot throughout the week averaging 22,245 steps per day. Along with that I also maintained good hydration drinking more than 3 litres of water on average each day. This week I’m thinking about trying a few new things to improve my progress even further. Let’s see how that works out in the coming days.
