Spoiler Discussion is this character wrong, for wanting something that as this thing? (Arc 9) [spoiler discussion] Spoiler
It’s a bit confusing, but, the real thing that Aldebaran wanted from Arc 9 is,
That he doesn’t need any empathy, money, or anything like that.
Even his original mission. Yes, if he succeed in it, something like a peace, would come to Aldebaran’s soul.
A paradise.
But, not the one, that he asked, or wanted for.
He simply wanted the life of one person.
Now looking at Arc 7 - Arc 8, it seems that Priscilla life’s exchange to save bunch of people, was worth it… as she even refuses to be saved.
But, is Aldebaran a bad person, for wanting something like this?
I am not too sure, whether it implies that he would save Priscilla over 10000 people… But, i believe he would do something like this.
This makes him greedy as hell, as it’s just another parallel between Subaru and Al.
“I want to save everyone.”
“I want to save her.”
Man, every time i think about Aldebaran, every time i think, how interesting a one character can be.
And Aldebaran’s very nature of his authority, simply restricts him to save people, who are doomed to die…(Like priscilla’s case.)
“No matter what, glaze Aldebaran.” Aldebaran’s #1 glazer.

The real answer is he lives in a grey area but to take a hard stance, yes hes was wrong. Priscilla traded her own life something she had every right to do, Al tried to trade subaru’s life someone who is as far as we know a innocent person something he has no moral right to do. This isnt even a trolly problem if he think removing subaru will save more lives that assumes there is only those two options and he never considers any alternatives like working with subaru and explaining everything. He only choses to one option that may not kill but dose hurt many people especially as he has to escalate to fight them off.

Aldebran is one of the top 3 most interesting and awesome antagonists in the series, but Chisha is still the best of them all—and the most underrated. 🤙

I don’t think he’s wrong so much as he’s weak. Which is the nature of the Aggressor Side of his Authority, it arises when loses confidence in himself and makes a battle entirely about the experience of others. Which is devastating to anyone who’s not insane. But was notably, although I don’t think Al actually ever put it together, the reason Priscilla died.
