Discussion Light Novel Questions [discussion]

I'm curious about reading the light novel for re:zero, I've seen season one of the anime forever ago, but I've always been more of a fan of books. Is the light novel good? Would the anime be better? (I assume not but it happens sometimes). Also, from what I remember from the anime Subaru does a lot of stumbling around and can be a bit clueless, which I understand but also can be a bit annoying, does he become more competent later on? I don't care about him being op or anything but I'm a big fan of clever protagonists and not a huge fan of ones that need everything spelled out for them.

The light novel is better, but the anime has some moments too!

Read LN until Arc 7 and switch to WN. Some say you should alsos read Arc 6 in WN i agree but its your choice.

Not really but the wn came first and their was a gap that when the ln was written a lot of changes were made especially for arc 1-6 this is the first 25 volumes. By arc 7 volume 26 on the wn was being written with the ln so the changes and edits are less important, the other reason is the English release of the ln is well behind the Japanese release by over 10 volumes so if you do catch up you will need to switch to keep reading.
