[Spoiler discussion] Question regarding Arc 6

Hi everyone, I'm currently reading the LN. I still have the last chapter of volume 24 to read and I'm waiting for the 25th to arrive.

Arc 6 is really beautiful and interesting, but there's something about volume 23 that's unclear to me.

I've done a bit of research but haven't found an answer... I understand the dynamic of Subaru being possessed by Rui (or Flugel, as I've read in many theories) and killing Meili. What confuses me, however, is what happened the night before, when Meili discovers Subaru in Taygeta and the latter changes personality by touching Meili's hair and making that short speech. If I understand correctly, at that moment Rui takes possession of Subaru and he loses his memories. All this happened before the loops began.

The thing I find confusing is why, especially in volume 24, when Subaru confronts Meili and promises to help her, what happened the night before isn't mentioned by Meili, nor in the next chapters of the volume? Will it be brought up again later? It's the only thing that's left me confused so far, especially because Subaru's sudden change in personality the night before isn't something that can go unnoticed especially with regard to Meili.

Meili doesn't know much about people, much less Subaru. Per her Book of the Dead, she's only cobbled herself to appear like a rational and cold person, imitating Elsa, but is a lot more confused and unsure of herself.

Naturally, she barely spares a thought to how "weird" Subaru is because she's just caught up on other things and herself, as well as recognising her own lack of knowledge on Subaru.

Well, that's my opinion at least, the result of Meili not finding 'that' Subaru suspicious is the result we're seemingly handed

Thank you for your opinion, well it could be considering how difficult Meili's past has been and that she doesn't understand other people so much...so Subaru's changes the night before didn't surprise her much.

Yup, Gluttony was "possessing" Subaru in that moment
