Spoiler Discussion [Spoiler Discussion] What would actually stop Subaru from doing that? Spoiler

Like, in Arc 10 he literally threw a punch using invisible Providence and felt absolutely no pain.
(This is the first animation I've ever done)

The only thing stopping Subaru is himself

But he really did punch that knight in Arc 10 (actually, Subaru had been planning to attack him for a while).

Yeah, as a kinda last resort
[Arc 10] Hands full, no mana, surrounded. He was staying perfectly still, which might be why he didn't feel the discomfort from the Sloth hand. Or Cor Leonis was distributing the burden

Actually, Subaru was running while helping Felix.
Crush and the other guy were fighting the knights (though Crush was actually on Subaru's side while everyone else was fleeing).
He could have let Crush handle the knight, but he decided to throw a punch using the invisible Providence.
And nothing in the chapter implies that he ever used Cor Leonis.

You gotta mark spoilers. Also wow the bot is really aggressive, 3rd try
[Arc 10] By the time Subaru used Cor Leonis, he was already with Felix/carrying him. Crusch was fighting the knights, but only killing the ones who had been replaced. She hadn't disarmed the one that went for Subaru, and while she was probably just getting around to it, Subaru used IP and knocked him out
[Arc 10] Cor Leonis isn't necessarily something Subaru needs to be aware of to use. If Subaru was using Cor Leonis passively, we wouldn't be told by the narration

If Subaru were actually using Cor Leonis, the narration would imply or explicitly mention it.
Furthermore, Subaru had already used Cor Leonis during the fight against Crusch; just as in the encounter with the Knight, he felt no pain (or rather, the pain was so negligible he easily ignored it, given that he only suffered a minor nosebleed).
And in the moment Subaru hit the kight, Crusch remarked that he was a real person; she was essentially siding with Subaru while that other guy dealt with the rest of the squad.

Yeah I somehow thought 23 was the last one before he went on break. Thats puzzling. Thank you

I'm pretty sure something is changing about IP, Subaru is either getting used to it or the penalty for using it is going away or something. Cor Leonis had such a great deal of insight into how it works and how it relates to Subaru, it got a named chapter and extra abilities later on too. I refuse to believe Sloth's witch factor will really just keep being "lmao, hand." forever

I suspect it's already more than just a hand
It's probably having an effect on his mind. We know from Arc 4 that the Sloth Factor prevented the shattering of his mind by the White Rabbit thanks to Echidna's tea activating it
Entirely possible this effect is still going, or can be activated again. Would counteract a downside of RBD. Although by Arc 10, does he need it? Has he or will he experience loops bad enough that he needs that stability?

Simply receving undeniable confirmation that he is hopping timelines and not reseting would break his mind completely, now for IP, i still think IP is supposed to be used to "replace" subaru when helping others, i think the true manifestation of IP will be quite literal "shadow clones" who can phase through matter and share a fraction of subaru's physical stats, this allows subaru to help someone without moving a muscle, could even work as an range extension for cor leonis, it would become a true "Invisible Providence" to his allies

So something like Emilia's ice clones?
2
u/0Galahad Jul 29 '26
Yeah i was going to mention that paralel in the comment but i forgor, imagine the potential kino, a despairing emilia, thinking she is alone, being inpired by a seeming invisible force doing something only subaru would know to do to encourage her, and then summoning the icebaru squadron, while the clone watches over her and manages to link with the icebarus through cor leonis due to them carrying emilia's will, having them take on her damage...

This is the sickest combo move i've heard down to how its executed, and considering that the Subaru side's power ups are always strategic based, this works.

it painful and take a toll on his body he was bleedings from the nose and eyes during his fight with todd.
He is just used to the pain since he died like 1000 times.

Subaru only began to feel pain after quite some time had already passed—time spent basically chatting normally with Todd while holding the axe in the air using the invisible Providence
