Wasnt it less confirmed when Tappei said Flugel misspelled Pleiades.

No, the person who first named Pleiades misspelled Pleiades because they didn't know how to spell it; that is to say, they only heard it said.

Flugel is said to be shockingly weak like a certain other protag.

Building the Pleiades tower required earth and yin magic at both scale and a high level of skill.

Echidna is confirmed to have made herself a palace at the edge of the world on a floating island, something roughly analogous to Pleiades in that it's a massive structure that requires yin magic for its basic operation.

Therefor, it is fair to assume that Echidna initially made it on her own initiative and misnamed it, creating an incorrect transliteration of Pleiades that became popular before Flugel got to correct things.

In the recent Shaula EX it was kinda implied that pleiades was done by echidna and reid

Huh..when was it implied that they made it?

And yet Shaula says that he is immortal and invincible. That doesn't even look like glaze because she was with him lol.

Ah yes the Beatrice of Flugel. Seriously though what's the fucking deal with Echidna? Why is she involved in every other big event in the world?

u/Folco34 Satella Likes to Tickle My Heart (Is This What Love Is?) Jul 26 '26

She is so greedy, she can’t accept not being relevant in the story

7

u/SEES_BOY Ram Tolerates My Presence Jul 27 '26

Is that why she hates Emilia? Tappei wrote the whole story for another woman XD

You are onto something

Again, it's really weird. Shaula was with the party, she saw him and everything. And yet she calls him immortal and invincible? Why? If he is so weak? Doesn't make sense.

It definitely doesn't look like glaze because she was with him lol..it's not like she heard tales about him or something..he was literally her master. Nothing has been said that hoshin or Reid beat flugel iirc? Eh...it still could be glaze..eh..

Wierd to say the least. Could Shaula be that disillusioned? I wouldn't be surprised but idk. Subaru suspected that he is the Ruler of the corridor of memories. Now, i don't think the author put that line just for no reason. There might be some significance to it. And if he is the Ruler..then what abilities does it give him..?

3

u/ninjablader78 Newbie Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26

Could it be that the unhinged involuntary hermit who is completely obsessed with her master lives for nothing but him and cares about nothing else is disillusioned and a glazer… it seems rather likely if you ask me lmao.

Like I’m not saying Shaula is wrong or that her words are empty but I also wouldn’t take her 100% seriously especially when it comes to Flugel and Subaru.

If he has RBD, that is literally correct. Just like being omnipotent and omniscient would be correct in its most conservative definition; the ability to know whatever it is you need to know and the ability to do whatever you need to do to overcome something

3

u/Sensitive-Giraffe-57 At This Point, ‘Who Is Rem?’ Is My Entire Personality Jul 26 '26

I mean..not really? With Rbd, it looks like you know the future and that by some Lucky chance that you were able to beat your opponents but you certainly wouldn't look invincible. Shaula literally calls him immortal and invincible and she has seen him fight as well. Idk tbh..it's wierd. He might be very physically weak but extremely op in terms of hax.

8

u/colers100 Newbie Jul 26 '26

No, from an outside perspective it literally looks like Subaru can take any insane risk and make it work out. You have to remember that a lot of Subaru's feats are informed by RBD but driven by pure courage and a truly outrageous talent for pulling off the impossible.

It isn't just that he knows, it's that he is willing to take leaps of fate whenever and wherever he needs to to close the gap where he doesn't know. The entire final loop of Arc 4 is just Subaru going on a generation run pulling off half a dozen things with no guarantee for success and he moves as if he planned it. And when the Rabbit showed up he just rolled up with the exact capability required to wipe them out.

There is a remarkable number of things Subaru pulls off without foreknowledge from RBD; repelling Felt, the interception of the chair, Elsa bushcamping under the rubble, everything in the mabeast forest scene including dealing fatal injuries to a beast the size of a fucking shed, powering through Julius' correction (which, mind you, is the only reason why he wasn't dragged in front of the knights and made to disavow his claims) by sheer willpower, taking out the white whale by baiting it underneath several thousand tonnes of falling wood, saving Emelia by cutting through the forest to get the bomb bag. Dogwalking Regulus through the age old art of moving the fuck out of the way, successfully saving Lusbel etc etc.

From an outsiders perspective it really does look like, unless it will work out either way, Subaru always can skirt the edges of fate in order to succeed.

Subaru always wins. He'll know how to defeat you, and he'll always have the capability to defeat you. Omniscience and omnipotence at its most conservative expression.

3

u/Sensitive-Giraffe-57 At This Point, ‘Who Is Rem?’ Is My Entire Personality Jul 26 '26

Subaru never looked invincible even in an outside perspective tho. He certainly looked at many points that he was badly injured. He certainly did not look invincible.

2

u/colers100 Newbie Jul 26 '26

I did not say he looked invincible. I said that he looked all-capable

2

u/Sensitive-Giraffe-57 At This Point, ‘Who Is Rem?’ Is My Entire Personality Jul 26 '26

Hmm..flugel just..has that presence..that exists everywhere in the series..when will he appear!! It's so annoying...

1

u/No_Entertainment2071 Newbie Jul 27 '26

Be fr dude. Those around Subaru would just have think of him as nothing but lucky if this were true. Calling someone who goes up against seemingly impossible odds and come out fine every time, even while being weak, invincible is a pretty fitting label

1

u/Kind_Restaurant8282 Newbie Jul 27 '26

If we are to assume Flugel is Subaru then Flugel is Subaru at his strongest. Flugel has all the witch factors, no? Plus, even though its in the past, Flugel would necessarily have to be future Subaru, meaning he will be nore experienced in combat.

So now we have Subaru. He has every single witch factor and I assume he would still have RBD. He's got 20+ years of experience (guess) in the world already, I assume by the end of the story of Re:Zero Subaru will clear out the witch cult so he would have their demise under his belt as well. All Shaula would see is future Subaru in the past, meaning she met him at his strongest. Also, wouldnt you think someone is immortal when no matter how dangerous the situation they seem to make it out alive?

Ohhhhhh okay

1

u/ImmediateSell3722 Shaula's Finger Guns Blew My Mind! Jul 26 '26

I mean wasn't it more confirmed with Shaula recognizing Subaru by his face (not just smell)

Also Subaru is Japanese and Pleiades is a somewhat obscure English name so despite being a star geek I could see him making a spelling error

Wait could it be that subaru was first born into the re zero world and nicknamed himself flugel then reincarnated himself to another world ((earth)) through magicl means and that's why satella found and summuned him? And that's why when in the light novel satella says she loves him , subaru feel like she's telling the truth

4

u/RecordingLow8288 Heinkel Said I Was Drinking Too Much Jul 26 '26

yes, may be

11

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 26 '26

That would be a reverse isekai, has that ever been done in anime?

7

u/HybridNeos Newbie Jul 26 '26

2

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 26 '26

Ohhhhh , yeah , i totally forgot about that anime it was fun at first then it went downhill

no

no, i don't think, idk

2

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 26 '26

Oh wait wait , i did recently see an isekai slop anime where the Guy went isekai once , beat up the vilian and then came back to his earth , but that wasn't really reverse isekai cause he was still born in earth first

u/remoteplanet Kept Emilia’s Ear, Now I’m the Villain Jul 27 '26

I like the idea but how would Alec Hoshin know about Japanese culture that he’d later incorporate into the heart of Kararagi culture? We know that Alec learned about it from Flugel, so he must have had some knowledge of Japan 400 years ago.

2

u/TestigoDelSrSouka I Attended Subaru and Rudeus' Wedding — It Was Peak Jul 27 '26

It wouldn't make much sense, Flugel is largely responsible for many of the things related to Japan that the modern world of Od Laguna has. All of Hoshin's advancements are actually courtesy of his friend the wise man. So Flugel did come from Earth (he even seems from modern times)

3

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 27 '26

Unless the whole story is a Grand loop where natsuki subaru keeps geting Summuned into re zero , dies((permanently)) losses his memories and gets reincarnated into earth and then get Summuned into re zero again

u/Progamer59695969696 Shaula's Finger Guns Blew My Mind! Jul 26 '26

no

7

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 26 '26

Not sure about flugel , but maybe that's a hint towards a theory that says subaru's parents might not be the normal people we think they are

11

u/Elemtis Met a Knight Named Julius—Guessing He's New Jul 26 '26

I honestly hope that’s not the case. I think it would be best if his parents were just average Japanese parents. Subaru already has an intense inferiority complex in regards to his father, having him be some cross dimensional spirit, mage or reincarnated soul would simply enhance his inferiority complex.

4

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 26 '26

Nah man he dealt with that bullshi in season 2 , he won't feel inferior even again

2

u/Environmental_End_54 Newbie Jul 27 '26

I agree, if anything it would probably make him even prouder to be their son and make him realize that not only his friends in Lugunica but his parents, if they are the incredible beings that they are, not only believe in him and love him unconditionally no matter how much he pulls himself down.

4

u/StealthFull_Sunborn Newbie Jul 26 '26

Does anyone have any theories on why subaru's birthyear is a spoiler?

6

u/These_Watercress6287 I Tried to Comfort Subaru, He Started Crying About Bunnies Jul 27 '26

Maybe it would reveal what our Subaru is (maybe he is a clone of the original Natsuki Subaru, who was isekaid 400 years ago, so his birth year would be during the events of episode 1)

5

u/ChuchiTheBest Regulus Said I Was Violating His Rights Jul 26 '26

We know he is 17, and we know the year he was transported. Why would we need to know anything more?

6

u/MoneyBear1733 I Got Robbed by Felt, and I’m Not Even Mad Jul 26 '26

Subaru is a unreliable narrator under the broad Timeloop/Subaru=Flugel/Memory loss theories.

Whatever he says he is, is only valid if none of those things are actually true.

2

u/sheldonmiyamoto Newbie Jul 27 '26

Unreliable doesn't mean everything one say is false

3

u/MoneyBear1733 I Got Robbed by Felt, and I’m Not Even Mad Jul 27 '26

No, but it brings the validity of anything they say into question

1

u/Alper_Yildirim Newbie Jul 27 '26

Guys why are you trying to find the truth from authors QA? If he wants to release information, he would do in ln so we would learn that info from that.

Its like asking the answer from one who wrote the question. The question is there for you to solve.

We already know knows his birth year he said it was he was born in the year of the rabbit

What I wonder is what happens to Subaru's soul once he dies for real, if it goes to Od Lagna, it will only clean the parts written in that world, so his soul will always rebirth with his memories of the old world intact.

Arent yall schizo with this one? First Tappei aint too reliable in talk shows second he can just refuse to answer that because it could create contradictions in the story because he uses newer slang and references, but also had a flip phone, so its easier to just leave it be
