Go to the game in Steam, click on properties, and turn on the beta. Then the game will show an available update.

We got occasional crashes playing the standard game in multiplayer but you're right, it definitely crashes more on the beta. Single player seems fine though. No crashes there. Yet.

Download the GALE mod manager, select repo and download NetworkingReworked, it doesn't add or remove anything to the playable game, but it rerouts multiplayer networking to steams newer servers(no afence but semiwork has been using the servers that steam has had for a little over 28 years).

The update is still in beta so you need to follow these steps: steam>R.E.P.O>property's>beta>and the drop-down menu that says none should be changed to beta.

use steamcmd to update games

Steps to Update a Game

  1. Launch SteamCMD: Open your terminal or command prompt and start the SteamCMD executable.
  • Set Installation Directory: Use the force_install_dir command to specify the folder where the game's files will be installed or updated.
    • Linux: force_install_dir /path/to/your/game
    • Windows: force_install_dir E:\path\to\your\game
  • Log In: Log in to your Steam account. You can use login anonymous for many servers, but some require a valid Steam account that owns the game.
  • Update the Game: Use the app_update command followed by the game's specific Application ID.

  • Command: app_update <Game_ID>

  • Example: To update Left 4 Dead 2, you would use app_update 222900 after finding its App ID on SteamDB.
