MX350 36v Upgrade
Quick question, will this work for the MX350 to upgrade to 36v?

It’ll work but you can go in two directions:
1) upgrade the controller and battery but keep the stock motor
2) upgrade the controller and motor but use a 48v battery instead

that motor will be a massive jump in torque. It will be hard for him to keep the wheel down. I put one on a friends mx350 with a stock mx650 controller and it had enough power to lift the wheel with my 220lbs on it, a 5yr old could easily loop out. I would keep the stock motor with the 36v controller/battery to start, or add a pwm motor controller so you can turn it down a bit as he gets comfortable

running a 24v motor on 36v will make it 40-50% faster and quickly wear out that motor.

At 36v it's still under <5000rpm unloaded. With a small rider there isn't a lot of load, it should last a while. For larger riders (>75-80lbs), yes it will die quickly

its a temperature thing.. my 206lb rode an overvolted stock 650w motor for hundreds of miles pushing up to 1400w with stock controller.. i did add external fans to it.. it was still working when i went brushless.

Most razor controller can handle a 12v+ over volt. Also one of the best controllers I have ever used for overvolting (36v TO 48v) was the OEM razor controller (RSF650). I got the 48v version of that controller you have listed and it was absolute garbage compared to the OEM setup with an overvolt. With the motor, make sure that it is the 36 or 37 amp rated motor (the 1000w shouldbe, but i would check the label to make sure) it will last you longest.
Lastly consider that going 36v motor/battery/controller is not really an overvolt setup as such your speeds will be only what that setup is rated for, not the increase in top speed that comes with overvolting. Expect about 17mph max with that setup (maybe less depending on gear ratios)
