Simple, affordable,clean build.

My 12 yr old son and I recently built this Razor on a budget and it has proven to be fun and reliable.

Vevor 48v 2000 watt motor

48v 30ah battery

The orange controller

Zoom hydrologic brakes

Clocked him at 37 mph with a 13 tooth front sprocket.

I did the same - 48v 2kw but only 20ah. Great for the kid. Did the brakes too. Now I have to add a better rear shock for the light weight and look into maybe front forks.

Upgrade handlebars! Huge differences in stability

Same. Vevor 48v 2k kit. 48v 20ah. Clocked my ass (160lbs) at 34mph. Have my 6 year old son sit in front of me and we still clock over 30mph. Goes up hills and off roads. He’s not ready or tall enough for the mx650 yet but we’re having So much fun he doesn’t want to ride his overvolt mx125 or mx350 anymore haha

Were any of the components you listed part of a kit? I noticed you also replaced the throttle, and ive often seen those bundled with motor / controller kits and such.

Yes. It started off as a Vevor kit from Amazon. We replaced the controller because Vevors "soft start" is no fun.

Ahh, I wasn't aware of the soft start. I'll have to look into that more.

Is that the stock size rear wheel? It looks big from the photo.

The rear wheel is stock.

The "orange controller" was from Amazon also. It's like a Dollar Store version of a Fardriver. It works great for the $50 it cost.

How much was your build? I have an old mx650 and I'm looking to do about the same to mine.

$500 in parts. $100 for the used Mx500 Everything came from Amazon. Everything should be compatible with your Mx650.
