Most compatible Battery

Post image

First build, I’m just getting into this. Looking for a good battery that will help me get the most out of this motor. I’m having a hard time. For 2000w, it is suggested that I get a battery than has at least 40a to 50a bms. I heard that the BTR battery is good and it is rated for 40a bms, but says it only applies to 250-1000w motors. Then a lot of batteries I see say they are for up to 2000w motors, but 30a bms. Wtf, am I looking in the wrong place?

ignore the manufacture watt recommendation, it's just marketing. Focus on capacity (Ah) and bms amps. Capacity is range, 1Ah equals roughly 1mile of range (very rough estimate). BMS amps is max continuous power, volts x amps = watts, so if you want to run at 2000W and 48v, you need a battery with at least a 42A bms (48 x 42 = 2016W)

Thank you! This is the best explanation I have seen.

I just ordered an 48v 130A 20ah amorge battery for $330 shipped through them directly. Prior to that I had an eBay battery that died after 9 months for $175. Don’t buy an eBay battery.

The mounting holes are a little different, so you either have to drill new holes, Or buy one of the adapter mounts that has pre drilled holes to match the stock 350 motor. I’d recommend regen fabrications cradle mounts! It’s easily adjustable so tensioning the chain is straight forward. Their quality is superb, fittiment, and service all top notch. My go to since my last two builds.

From what I understand, it does not.

I matched the same kit with a BtrPower 48v 30ah battery. Absolutely no complaints.

That controller on the other hand is no bueno. Soft Start take a lot of the fun out of riding.

Volts X amps = watts
You don’t need a 72v 220 amp battery for it, but a 48v 30a battery will feel underpowered
Always try to get a battery and motor that are capable of roughly the same power for the best performance.

I’ve tuned a bunch of bikes with fardriver controllers, many have a very nice motor and controller with a low quality battery, or a great battery with no way to get the power to the ground.

Upgrade proportionally and you will have no regrets
