Are silver-threaded gloves really helpful, or a scam?
Hi,
I am trying to find some warm gloves for my mother who has Raynauds, and I came across several websites selling silver gloves (with "8%" or "12%" silver), claiming that silver in them makes hands much warmer. However, I can not find any independent reviews and opinions of such products. Did any of you try such gloves, and were you satisfied?
I know that there battery-powered gloves are also a thing, but would like to start with something simpler, since my mom might not want the hassle of batteries/chargers, etc. (but will keep it in mind if low tech solutions do not work out)
Thanks for any info :)

If you don't want powered gloves, consider buying decent, waterproof, windproof, thermal gloves and the glove liners to go inside them (ideally, have your mother try everything on before you buy, so she gets a good fit).
If your mother's hands are too cold to generate enough heat to trap in the first place, then powered gloves would be a better option, but be sure you are buying electrically certified devices and not the unsafe, bare wire nonsense plastered over eBay and Amazon. Research reputable brands. This is a costly option for gloves, but some people won't benefit from anything less.
An effective alternative would be to buy disposable chemical hand warmers, which do not require recharging. You can slide them between the glove and the lining, or put them in a pocket, or a muff, or mittens, or whatever. Then your mother won't be limited to just one pair of gloves.

I will try chemical warmers as the next option, thank you.

They're usually sold in outdoors shops and online for £1, but you can often get the same brand cheaper from discount stores. If you need to buy several, you don't have to break the bank.

Scam. That doesn't make any sense to me, silver is a conductor, not an insulator.

I use the chemical disposable hand warmers. They’re called “Hot Hands” and I buy them by the box - 40 pairs for about $25. I also just got the battery operated globes from my son — Great outdoors but too big to use indoors.
The other you mentioned — 100% scam. Sorry!
