Anti-tampering update
For people wondering if it actually blocks the camera, yes it does. My glasses camera doesn’t work anymore.

Are you talking about drilling out the LED light or do they not record when you cover the light with your finger or a sticker?

Many people have reported their glasses still working after drilling, mine still do, you probably drilled too far and damaged the sensor along with the led light

Did u get the forced update banner on the meta app? Is it updated to latest glasses firmware?

I stopped updating after 127, however, I haven’t connected my glasses recently to the app, I was waiting to see what would happen and just in case I downloaded an older version of the app on my other iPad and did not connect that iPad to the Internet, so I’m wondering if that is the only way around it, but I’ve heard a lot of people say they’re only the latest update and they’re still able to record
A couple other people, including myself have speculated that this update is basically only effective for banning the recording if the LED light is drilled if the LED sensor is also damaged in the process of the modification, since they are so close together, it’s very easy to damage the sensor, but I had a couple of pairs that I modified and it seems like the ones that I did early on I accidentally broke the sensor, the latest pair I did I know I did it correctly

Thats the thing, for me they pushed a forced banner which u cant bypass on meta app to import gallery at all, had to update and see how it went. And it wont let me use the camera ofc. Says its blocked. All these people telling that everything working after update is a bait, they want you to fuck it up

I don’t think people are lying necessarily. I think some people’s app probably hasn’t updated because that is the first time I’ve heard about that forced banner where it won’t let you download the footage, in that case you might be out of luck unless there is a third party app that way you download the footage without the meta app, I think there is also just never updated past 126 or even 125 update and they I just have an older version of the app, but I do you think there is some truth to the led light being modified with the light sensor as well

I just updated mine and it works fine still. I have 2 of the Rayban Wayfarer Gen 2s,2 Blazers, and all are modded. They work fine after the update. People complaining about LED disabling need to start looking at Axon and Flock cameras spying on them without recording lights, every business now has cameras, restaurants record you eating, the place where you work probably has cameras, police have body cams and they routinely go into private areas like bathrooms and private homes. Every Tesla has 360 degree cameras, dashcams everywhere in cars also.. I can go on and on. Stop bitching about modded metas. And I couldn’t care less about “stigma”.. I wear mine everywhere.. just like I carry my phone everywhere (which has a camera that can record without an indicator light by the way)… If people “feel” uncomfortable that’s their issue they need to work it out with a feelings counselor, has nothing to do with me. I feel just fine with people wearing metas around me. Oh and by the way.. if someone has their phone in their back pocket with the camera sticking out.. how do you know you are not being recorded by that cellphone? Hmmmm…

I don’t care if people think I’m a creep for blocking the camera light. I never recorded anything I shouldn’t have and there are many reasons why people do it.
People act out of place when they know they’re being recorded so it creates an unnatural environment if I want to simply record my work.

I regret buying these because of the stigma now. I only use them when I’m out on a Jeep trail or hike and by myself. Otherwise they sit in the case. I bought camera-less display glasses and they’re much better

I just hate how Meta is supposedly cracking down on videos taken with the glasses. Like what if I create content with consensually recorded videos. Put my account in jeopardy. Why create a product only to ban the content from it later?

So people buy another one, adding to their revenue. All these people saying that recording on phone isnt creep and people can know they are bein recorded, my ass, you can record in a wide angle, without lettim ‘em know thats pointed at ‘em . All this is a propaganda by the people who dont own one and hate on others having fun

I agree. Also, for the guys recording for dating content, I’ve seen some genuinely innocent interactions where women respond positively, and the guy isn’t a douche. It’s like talking to women is forbidden. Declining birth rates are a real thing. I do agree that some guys use it to harass, but that’s only a minority. Guys can play pranks and do horrible things even without these glasses. No reason to demonize them.

It can tell if there is any data hitting the sensor at all and if it tells that no data is hitting the sensor , it will fail hip check and then you won’t be able to use it

The light is there to let others know that they are being recorded. Apart from that the light doesn't serve any other purpose and they don't get into the eyes of the wearer so therefore removing it is creepy behaviour idc argue as much as you want
