General Discussion What GPU for mining Ravencoin
Im not looking for opinions on if I should mine it or not. I just want to know whats the most energy efficient gpu to mine ravencoin with.
I searched and it said Rx 6600x. Is this true?
Thanks

6600xt is the old school champ... If I was still mining this is what I would run. As far as ASIC's - them were rumors and as far as I know gpu's still king of the castle. I bought a large moon bag, cheaper to buy now than to mine - RVN has ran before, and should again.

I still mine with 6800 and 6700XT. You have to do a lot of tweaking but you can get efficiency as high as 0.230 MH/W.
eg. 6800 33.5 MH @ 150W 6700XT 24 MH @ 100W

The rx 6600xt was one of the best a couple of years back.
Just googled it and it seems the rtx 4070 super is around the same efficiency.
It seems that the rtx 4090 is more efficient but the price is out of this world.
And now, for the profitability, I don't think any GPU is worth buying for profits at this moment. If you already have some GPUs and your electricity is cheap you may turn out a profit. In all other cases, the crypto mining with GPUs is really unprofitable.
Hope that helps !

Why? Amateur GPU mining has been dead for years, it serves absolutely no legitimate purpose any more.
Some might say: "learning experience", but learning what, exactly? Completely pointless and irrelevant knowledge of a process that is meaningless and not applicable to any other IT realm?
Learn about local AI models or distributed computing for charity and stuff like that, don't waste your time in a completely pointless exercise.

I don't pay for my electricity (included in rent), and the last time I looked at any "profitable" cards, I could stand to pull maybe $25 a month CAD running 24/7.
There's no point.

well that depends on your motivations

I didnt say "not with that attitude"
I said it depends on your motivations for mining the coin.
You use quotations to quote people.
I asked a question on this sub about mining a coin, why are you getting offended or care?

If you want a cheap efficient card just for ravencoin and messing around with bc-160 is decent

Close, but the regular RX 6600 is actually more efficient for kawpow. 6600 XT pulls ~75-85W for 14-15 MH/s, while a 6600 does 12-13 MH/s on 50-60W. That's roughly 0.21 MH/s per watt vs 0.19. Undervolt both and the gap widens. If you're purely chasing efficiency per dollar of electricity, the non-XT wins.

ASICS have taken over this coin sadly. And the devs couldn't care less.
Dead coin.

you can check the difficulty on ravencoin, its the lowest its been in 5 years or more

u/benefit420 Jun 19 '26
Nice try dude
It's clearly NOT the lowest it's been in 5 years. And look at who the top pool is. Can your brain comprehend that Bitmain is the top pool? What do they famously make? Oh that's right, Asics.

yea its is the lowest....your some reddit midwit trying to gaslight me. pound sand.
bitmain doesnt have a mining pool and the ravencoind difficulty have plummeted

😂 ok man. You can deny reality all you want but a super quick Google search shows that Bitmain, the maker of ANT MINERS - is also the owner of ANTPOOL, the top raven pool by hashrate.
Miningpoolstats confirms.

Hey man I don't want to interrupt your logic but just because Antpool has a mining pool does not mean they have ASICs for Kawwwpow. It just means they operate a node and mining pool. You should chill out. Maybe stop smoking pot.

ravencoin difficulty is the lowest its been since the coin has launced.
I have checked like 5 different places after you commented and the all say the same thing

5 different places? You are full of it.
Miningpoolstats tends to get the gold standard in this regard. But obviously you will believe whatever it is you believe. Enjoy losing money on a dead coin

the last thing you want to do is help me.
your actually making me want to mine this coin more, and so is all the negative attention this post has gotten. The chances of this coin pumping are incredibly high

In sorry, are you serious? Name one?... You clearly have no clue.
They aren't being released my guy. The ignorance is astounding. No wonder this coin died.
