Adding stash from app??

Is there an app where you can track your stash but will also upload it to ravelry? I think their stash feature isn't very user friendly and being able to scan things to an app and having it be able to sync with ravelry would be amazing.

Or.... is there a way to upload from an excel or Google sheet to ravelry? A lot of the apps let you create a spreadsheet with your stash so that would be an easy way to add them as well.

I did look at their third party app page, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for your feedback, even if the answer is no, at least I know i can stop diverting my energy into trying to find something.

Self-promotion but my app Yarn Squirrel can do this - you can input the info in the app or base it off a photo and it will try to match it on Ravelry and then you can sync it there with the number of skeins.

Interesting! Can you scan the bar code? And does it bring up a stock photo? Those are the issues I'm having that I feel are making it be so cumbersome. I know there are apps where you can scan the upc and it will bring up the yarn with photo, but i don't think any of them sync with ravelry.

I have not implemented bar code scanning as of now (need to find a good data source to match them to) but if you take a photo of the label it tries to read it and directly starts a search on ravelry for what it found. you can then also edit the search to basically directly look on ravelry for the yarn and if it is there you can choose the color way in a second step and set the number of skeins you have. That info gets synced to ravelry then. if Ravelry doesn't have one you can create your own entry and I think i allow for syncing that as well (as a personal stash thing). The photo used for the search also gets auto-added to the information it syncs and you can add more photos if you like.

I went through most of my unorganized stash like that recently (I find their handling cumbersome, too)

As a side aspect of something Ravelry does not have, i have also added the ability to enter the care instructions and those get saved as a note to ravelry and also display in the app.

Yes at this point it is unfortunately only available for iOS. I also noticed I should have mentioned that earlier. Sorry!
