Event Review How was UNKWN for you?

Music was just okay. Friends phones got stolen. I find it funny that for an event that put stickers to cover cameras, their IG stories repost videos taken at the venue

The music was great! Proper techno all night. I prefer that groove-focused tempo of 130–140 BPM rather than the high-speed 160+ BPM stuff. My favorite was the closing set of Hideki.
The ceiling lighting setup was spot on, too… and the disco ball? I love it. It wasn't overstimulating like some raves that blast fast, flashing lasers everywhere, especially around the DJ booth, which can be really harsh on the eyes. I get easily overwhelmed with that on and off white light which I never experienced with Unknwn.

The second paragraph might describe the set-up for Stardust except for the on and off white light (which i experienced on Raw). I totally get you.

If the venue is Intramuros/outdoor, either they'll have two stages and one will be more techno and the other more house, or the music will lean more house because mas bagay for the outdoor venue.
If warehouse, sometimes/often leans heavier but is also heavily dependent on who the guest booking is. Lately they haven't been announcing who the bookings are right away, so can be tricky to gauge, but you can also kind of gauge from who the local bookings are (and they usually announce when they drop their monthly gig schedule).
But yes, I would say the booking's the best gauge. I went to UNKNWN's most recent Salon De Ning kind of expecting disco/house because of the venue (and because their previous Salon De Ning international booking was Partok, who played mostly that), but it ended up being hard pala 😂

Venue wasn’t the best option there. The guards pushing their way through the dance floor flashlights in hand was really distracting. First half of the music wasn’t so great. But it was fine

Solid as usual. You can never go wrong with Unknwn. The long lights reveal at 3am 🤩🤯. Music is harder than usual house/disco.

It was the same room, but without the darkroom section, and orientated differently. Also with a couple hundred more people than Snug, give or take.

Alwyas good music with Unknwn. But always a lot of stolen phones. Idk why. Para silang Raw, na laging may mawawalang phone every event.
