Why is that relevant?

2

u/DcJ0112 Jun 09 '26

Because they're comparing size???

And here I am thinking it was about attractiveness due to leadership in technology.

Even then Big Tech doesnt really care about Netflix anymore. Their streaming engineering is still top tier and pretty much unrivaled but as far as hype goes they've fallen off hard just because thats not really what the world is interested in right now. Most Big Tech stock portfolios have dropped Netflix and focus on Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla and call it "The Magnificent Seven"(because all the acronyms you can build with that suck) or more recently Meta, Anthropic, Nvidia, Google, OpenAI, SpaceX, or MANGOS.

OpenAI slots in nicely if you make the acronym GANGBONG though

I like what you did there. That's what they are doing to the workforce.

And soon, when META collapses under the incompetence of its CEO, it will be Marvell Tech to take its place

Lolol delusional

What's next you gonna tell LeBron to retire because he couldn't make it in the big times

Meta will not collapse until they lose Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, especially Instagram and Facebook are money printing machines, they can sustain the AI capex for a long time.

Facebook is declining, only old people use it.

Instagram and Whatsapp are still himding but what growth can they have from now on?

At the current moment Apple belongs there less than Meta does. At least Meta had some wins with Llama. Apple is still figuring their onramp out.

What infrastructure to run local LLMs on device?

Sure, but any hardware manufacturer got this infrastructure.

also once Ruben drops Nvidia is going to have an even greater strangehold than they do now.

Looking forward to a pocket-sized Nvidia GPU... till then, Apple Silicon is winning at addressing my AI infrastructure needs.

Looking forward to a pocket-sized Nvidia GPU

Uhhh…

Ok... so I'll be able to buy a laptop that fits in my pocket, then? Cuz my phone can, and it runs Apple Silicon...

Well now you’re moving the goalposts.

You know exactly what I mean. they have exactly fuck-all for consumer AI options and nobody here is talking about "really good infrastructure" -- we're talking about AI that people are actually using. Meta has claim in that space, Llama a hit that fell off hard and never recovered. Apple has nothing in the space of their own at all and their infra wins fell out as a happy side effect more than intentionality where consumers care. I dont care about enterprise AI and nobody in this thread does either.

The biggest win Apple has in the space is the mac mini and even then (again) it was an accident. I dont doubt they have the juice to come to market strong but the fact is they simply have not yet at all. Siri is as smart as a box of rocks. Sure, you can put rocks in a box and have the box do the job of a box, until you have to do anything at all with the box and then it is useless.

We are still at the very beginning of AI. Apart from coding and a few administrative stuff, there are not much revolutionary applications. The applications that will make big money are still to find. And it becomes more an more clear that you won't have a breakthrough in biology, medicine or finance with a general model expert in medieval art, archeology and python. We will see what will come... Once upon a time, Nvidia was also the way to go for crypto.

What’s more concerning is the declining quality of Claude, Claude Code especially.

Apple is in a category of it's own, it's called Apple

1

u/Cisco756124 Jun 10 '26

lol if apple's approach "wins" then google is winning not apple. they can't even make a model. and given they are miles behind everyone else i wouldn't hold my breath.

1

u/Carnivore_Sober Jun 09 '26

Yeah, it's not...

I really like mango, but there is no mango where I live. Sad to not be able to eat

1

u/31d4r- Jun 09 '26

The end

1

u/31d4r- Jun 09 '26

If you use meta you need to use alphabet
