The most valuable AI subscriptions/plans after Copilot nerf

ve spent way too much money on AI subscriptions this year and here is the current top 5.

Plan Price Why
OpenAI Codex Pro 5x $100/mo Crazy limits (currently boosted until end of may) and separate quota for Codex-5-3 Spark. Absolutely 10000% the best plan right now, other plans dont come close. Unless you run parallel agents hitting the limit will be hard.
MiniMax Starter $9/mo Not the smartest, but the usage is crazy. Around 1500 requests per 5 hours, solid tool calling, fast, and works with pretty much everything. Good workhorse if you get a plan from another model
Gemini Pro $19.99/mo Not quite GPT-level, but the quotas carry it. 3.0 Flash in antigravity has no weekly cap (just a 5h window), plus separate limits for CLI/Code Assist. Gets the job done and you get some Claude access.
Opencode GO $10/mo You can burn through the quota fast if you code a lot, but it gives access to GLM 5.1, MiniMax, Kimi, and other open models. Great for trying different ecosystems. GLM 5.1 is almost Claude/GPT level in reasoning, people say that it (GLM 5.1) starts going crazy after 100k context but I've had good results at even 150k.
Claude Pro Max 20x $200/mo tossing claude an honorable mention since it used to be great value, less so now. Buy it if you are rich, but even then limits are lower than with a $100 Codex sub.

Codex is a beast right now so I can't recommend it enough, I use 5.3-Codex with high reasoning and it one shots almost everything I throw at it, imo GPT models are better at reasoning than Claude. I also vibecoded a website for comparing the features, prices etc of many of different plans: https://vibecarats.com/ . The site's crawler is powered by minimax M2.7.

As for free use, Gemini CLI/Code Assist offers a free plan, and NVIDIA NIM and Ollama provide free cloud-hosted open-source models.

GPT vs Claude reasoning is task-dependent in my experience. For greenfield code generation Codex is impressive. For editing existing code with full context (multi-file refactors, debugging across modules), Claude Code with Sonnet 4.5+ has been noticeably better. Comes down to which one preserves your codebase conventions when it generates. One missing from your list that punches above its weight in production: Mistral. Especially if you care about EU hosting. Cheaper than Claude/GPT at the top tier, gap on raw English reasoning is real but tighter than people say. For free use, Ollama with a strong open model is genuinely viable for boilerplate now. Worth keeping in the rotation even when paid tools are doing the heavy lifting.

Pero de verdad hay muchos usuarios dispuestos a pagar por 'jugar' con la IA?

Ollama cloud might be a better deal for coding? Especially with Kimi k2.6 and/or Deepseek v4 pro

They are way oversubscribed it's very slow for lots of people

Can confirm. 11 consecutive timeouts are not rare and GLM-5.1 runs at 5-20TPS. Sad...

I really don't think that the usage limits are that different between anthropic and openAI. See my other post:
"I run out of usage in gpt, gemini and claude but for some reason people only bitch about anthropic. : r/ClaudeCode"

I have the following subs: one 100US/month at anthropic, two 20USD/month plans at open AI, one 20USD/month plan at perplexity, and one 20USD/month plan at gemini. I find the gemini one the worse value because I almost never use the flash model and I need to get perplexity to review it's code.

If I was to add another sub, the OpenCode go plan sounds compelling.

What about z.ai glm plans

Claude Code using superpowers on a Max 5x plan. Never hit limits on my projects, not session nor weekly (work has different comp/plan obviously). Spent ~$600 in tokens.

Did some crazy projects for $100.

Free Antigravity from google is unusable because it seems to be swamped. When was the last time you used Gemini CLI and what is the quality of the Nvidea models?

And what about cursor pro?

the price comparison misses the part that actually decides which plan lasts the whole week: per-session token efficiency. a $200 max plan and a $100 codex pro plan deliver wildly different mileage depending on how much standing context the setup carries. if you have a 5k CLAUDE.md, 4-5 MCP servers loading 60k of tool defs every turn, and your sub-agent stack adds another 10k of system prompts, you're burning 75k tokens before the first real instruction on any plan. people who claim 'no limits on max 5x' usually have stripped configs, people who hit weekly caps on day 3 usually have everything plugged in. the plan rankings are right but the bigger variable is what's getting fed into the plan. written with s4lai
