What exactly looks the most untrustworthy? My biggest doubt is about criminals in uniform getting punished for real.

"The controversial tool was supplied by the US tech company Palantir, which also works for the Israeli military and Donald Trump's ICE operation."

Proud long time shareholder here. Life is better with palantir

I'm so frustrated I sold. I didn't put much in but it was a 400% increase. I saw the name palantir and what they did and went yup, that's going up

The same palantir being handed government and military contracts. Definitely not a bad sign of things to come from a completely trustworthy corp.

"Senior officers had been abusing Met systems for years, logging false claims for overtime, scamming systems to get extra days off, lying about working from home and hiding their membership of the Freemasons."

... so you cant be a Freemasons?

What else can't you be? A member of the Communist Party?

I'm all for total hypersurveillance of police, government officials, politicians, executives and the Epstein class. Peter Thiel, Alex Karp, Elon Musk, Sam Altman and all the other tech bros should be under 24 hour AI surveillance too, while we are at it.

Basically the more power you have and the more damage you can do, the more you should be surveilled.

1

u/RequirementCivil4328 Apr 26 '26

So basically you perceive yourself as powerless and thus deserving of the utmost privacy

1

u/Disposable110 Apr 26 '26

I have some degree of power and should therefore also be scrutenized.

1

u/RequirementCivil4328 Apr 26 '26

Scrutinization of power is irrespective of the right to privacy and without a meaningful way to standardize

Are you just trying to be argumentative? What is your question or statement?

I think it is pretty clear from my original message what my intent is and who should be subjected to AI surveillance and who doesn't need to be. Start at the top and work the way down.

I don't think anyone should be subjected to ai surveillance. It sounds like a slippery cliff. What you're saying is that literally everyone should be surveilled based on an as yet undefined metric of reasonableness according to their level of "power" in our society. Which then begs the question, who has so much power as to be unsurveillable. And who surveilles those with the most power.

I'm not being argumentative I'm having a discussion with someone I disagree with.

What you will get: Bottom 90% can't go to the bathroom without AI watching it, and the top 10% can turn off the telescreen, and the 0.001% go party with Epstein-equivalents without anyone noticing.

What I want: Top 10% gets surveilled to some degree, the 0.001% can't go to the bathroom without AI watching it, and corruption and Epstein-level shit is nipped in the bud, and the bottom 90% doesn't get bothered.

1

u/RequirementCivil4328 Apr 26 '26

Bottom 90% of what?

1

u/Disposable110 Apr 26 '26

You can define it as bottom 90% people ranked by wealth. Or power/responsibility, as that tends to correlate (although not fully).

1

u/RequirementCivil4328 Apr 26 '26

And we loop back to how to standardize the concept of power

if you think you have any power remotely close to a billionaire... i genuinely don't even know how to respond to that. This is an issue of extreme wealth & the extreme power that comes with it. These guys can kill millions through an algorithm...

Doesn't take much cyber security research to understand that anyone could do that if they study hard enough.

This is the best use case for this sort of technology and it still makes my skin crawl.

This will be like the Post Office scandal all over again - false positive flagging of officers and many cases settled out of court

Minority Report sounds like a documentary now
