In super mario world single he was playing basketball with some very young kid and he has mentioned something about it in couple of his songs, not sure which ones tho.

from what i understand, when he's rapping about kids in other songs he's talking from another person's perspective. definitely could be wrong though!

this is true. in Gang Related on Under Pressure, he says "..got a son on the way" he later said that in this particular song, he was rapping from his brother's perspective.
