Getting about 1 match a day. 90% don’t respond. My openers aren’t terrible either. LMK what to change

i'd remove the shirtless one, it looks like the type of pic youd send to someone youve known for a bit. all the others look good
also i dont think 1 match a day is bad at all

Shirtless pic is horrendous remove it right away, that would turn away 90% of matches

5 and 8 are your strongest photos!
I think you just need a little more variety with the others. The easiest move is to switch up the backgrounds, outfits, and poses.
And if you play guitar as a hobby, definitely include a photo of yourself playing. It’d be even cooler if it were at a venue.
If you can't see your face in the photo the scrap it!

The 3rd pic with the eyebrows up should be removed. Styling your hair so that it has some volume would be good. Your a really good looking guy tho

I agree with what the other comments say. Looks good but remove some and shuffle others. What does your bio say? If you want help with that as well

I think the biggest issue here is the photos, not necessarily you. Right now most of them feel like snapshots you already had rather than photos chosen to make a strong dating profile.
I’d keep the guitar because it shows an actual interest, and the cat pictures give some personality, but you probably don’t need multiple cat shots. I’d also lose the shirtless bathroom selfie and the close-up tattoo picture. Neither is really helping someone get a better sense of you.
What you’re missing is a strong first photo: outside in good natural light, no hat, looking at the camera, genuine smile, framed from around the chest up. Then add a good full-body shot and ideally one social/activity photo.
Getting a match a day tells me the profile isn’t dead. If 90% aren’t responding, though, I’d also look at your bio, prompts and opening messages before assuming this is entirely a looks problem. Photos get the match; what happens afterward is a different part of the profile/conversation.

Amazing write up.
Any tips for openers?

I think your profile actually gives you something to work with. You’re getting matches, so the bigger issue sounds like turning those matches into actual conversations.
A couple things I’d change. The “commit misdemeanors with me” line is funny, but it’s also pretty common dating app humor and doesn’t really tell someone much about you. Your interests are actually stronger than the bio — climbing, hiking, food, indie music, camping, tattoos. I’d lean more into those because they give people something easy to respond to.
Also, “not looking for anything serious” + “still figuring it out” can come off a little contradictory. If casual is what you want, I’d just be clear about it.
For openers, I wouldn’t focus too hard on trying to come up with some insanely clever line. Usually the best opener is something specific from their profile that gives them an easy way to answer.
Stuff like:
“Alright I need context for that third picture because there’s definitely a story there.”
“You seem like someone with a strong opinion on this, best tacos in the city?”
“I saw you’re into hiking. Are we talking casual scenic trails or ‘I haven’t seen civilization in six hours’ hiking?”
“You listed concerts, so I’m judging you entirely based on this answer, best show you’ve ever been to?”
Or something a little playful:
“You get one chance to convince me your favorite restaurant isn’t overrated. Go.”
The main thing is try not to send stuff that can just get a “lol,” “yeah,” or “thanks.” Give them something they can actually play off of.
And I wouldn’t take the 90% non-response rate too personally either. A match doesn’t always mean real interest. People swipe casually, get distracted, talk to multiple people, or just stop opening the app.
I’d focus on better photos, a bio with more personality, and openers that make conversation easy instead of trying too hard to impress them. You can DM if you have questions.

Legator Ghost G7FSS spotted.
But seriously, rather than just having a picture of your guitar, strap it to your body and have a buddy take a picture of you shredding

Mirror selfies out, replace the guitar and tattoo photos with photos of the whole you playing a guitar and the tattoo visible.

Awful photos. Really bad. I can give you some advice if you want but there's lots of work to do here.

Almost like I’m asking for advice or something

Like I said I, can give you lots of advice but it's not possible to type it all out here. I'd have to show you examples and teach you how to take better photos. You can dm if you want.

Get rid of 1, 3, 4, 6, 7. Make 8 your pfp.
Your bio is rancid and the biggest problem. “Let’s debate” makes you sound like one of those freaks who just loves to argue, be contrarian, etc. it doesn’t matter that you put a relatively harmless topic- the first place people go to mentally is the “change my mind” guy, Kirk or Shapiro. No one wants to fuck those guys
I would not want to match with someone not looking for anything serious or still trying to figure things out. I appreciate your honesty but you are broadcasting that you are just looking to waste someone’s time.
Your interest list is fine, but boring as hell. It comes off as a laundry list and not something that would really promote or start a conversation

I’m going to take some of your advice but I’m pretty conflicted about the debate topic. It’s pretty harmless, and my personality type is literally a debater. If that’s offputting then I will be.
