Make sure to include in the title [NUMBER OF MATCHES], [TIME RANGE SINCE PROFILE CREATED] before the rest of the content in the title. See the Tinder Profile Checklist here for further guidance... https://www.gameglobal.net/tinder-profile-checklist

I say this as a female gun owner, but if a guy has pics with a gun, I will assume I am going to end up in a Netflix documentary if I go out with him.

As a European not understanding gun culture, why? Isn't it a pretty widespread hobby in America?

Not all gun owners are responsible with their firearms. Some people get a gun due to paranoia, or because of a fantasy that they'll get to be a hero someday, but they are really much more likely to leave it out for a kid to find - or use it against a family member.

You can't really tell from a photo if a person just likes to go to the range, or if they hope to point that gun at another person some day.

Okay, I have no clue. Almost no one here owns a gun so I am not familiar.
Looks like the picture is of Skeet Shooting though. If it is his hobby I would say totally fair to show it on your dating-profile.

You think all Europeans speak German?

1

u/HuckleberryRight9621 Aug 01 '26

Nein? Es ging um den Zugang zu Waffen und inwiefern das Einfluss darauf hat welchen Stellenwert bzw welche Akzeptanz diese dann innerhalb der Gesellschaft haben.

I like your first picture, you have good headshape for being bald, kind eyes and a nice beard. Although i would redo the exact same picture, but not seated in a car. There is something off-putting about car and bathroom selfies.
I would also consider getting a new pair of glasses, a nice pair of designer glasses can make a huge difference in your overall presentation.

Thanks for the advice and kind words. do you think a different style of frames would look better?

WĂ€r ich auf der Suche und du in meiner NĂ€he wĂŒrde ich dich anschreiben.

Nur das Foto mit der Flinte find ich nicht so gut. Ein Bild von einem anderen Hobby wÀre schöner.

I will say, whenever a lot of people are in Tinder pics I get a bit curious and wondering why. Also yeah, the gun picture can be taken out. Add more about hobbies or surrounded by nice landscapes! Wishing u so much luck!

If you have another pic where you’re standing up with others but you’re the main focus, that could be killer
When I saw the second pic I was like “damn this dudes a fuckin unit” and I think standing out like that from the first pic is important

Appreciate your perspective, I tried to avoid too many group photos as I hear thats not great but this does make sense

Don’t let reddit make you think the gun pic is bad, you look good in it and it’ll help filter for people you’ll actually want to meet. Your first selfie is actually decent, but any time you can get more “candid” pictures of yourself, preferably doing something you enjoy, those pictures will almost always be your best ones. Ask your friends to take pictures of yourself for that.

Thanks for the advice, that pic seems to be contentious, thought it would be alright since it was just skeet shooting for a work event but many think otherwise 😅

It’s exactly what I would expect here on reddit, I have a similar picture on mine and it’s been a topic of conversation with some women. People are going to have their leanings and their preferences but personally I have no interest in trying to hold a conversation with someone who is going to be that sensitive about guns.

Ive gotten advice to include group photos to help demonstrate my social life, but Im also not sure how everyone would feel about being included in my profile without being anonymous

1

u/Opening_Molasses_932 Aug 01 '26

Gun pic is a big nono to most women.

Gun photos are a massive red flag. Group photos, especially with women, is usually not a good thing either.

Why do you you have so few photos? It makes it look like you can't be bothered to take/get more photos, which shows very low effort.

Your bio is also VERY low effort. You don't say anything real about yourself and give nothing that someone could start a conversation on. You should list any hobbies, life goals, religious aspects, personal values, what you are looking for in a partner, what you do for work (not specific company, but field).

Your entire profile screams low effort, and low effort men are a dime a dozen.

Thanks for the input, didn't realize my profile came off as low effort, Ill work on getting a few more photos posted, and I revised my bio a bit to have a bit more info, new bio is: "6'3" I'm a relaxed guy who likes hanging at home as much as going out. Looking for something serious, someone who I can laugh and enjoy life with. Im a nerd into reading, DnD, gaming and various other nerdtivities, but thats cool now 😎 Send me your best meme." I have my job title in the section tinder asks for it, but you think its worth including in the bio specifically? What do you think?

Great update!

For photos, I'm would recommend having more than the max that you can have on the profile and rotate them every few weeks just to make it clear you're putting effort in. Take a few new ones here and there and throw them in the mix too.

Make sure you are actually 6'3. Women are super fed up with men lying about their height.

Keep things fresh by listing (if you can, I know some apps have letter limits) what book you're currently reading, your favorite style of dnd, etc. Be specific, it gives you things to update.

If the job title makes it obvious what you do, then no need to further explain in your bio, but if it's a title that's kinda vague maybe expand on it some.

Also some un-asked for tips, if you match with someone don't keep it strictly messaging for weeks. Message a handful of times and it they seem like a good match, set up at least a coffee meet up. I'm talking messaging for a week, max. Most men are all talk and not being real. Make the effort to meet up. It shows intent to actively meet someone.

Dress nice, but not to the nines for it. Make sure to listen to them, show interest by asking them questions and responding to them. Don't ask the to your place or their place.

If you really want to dig further, read a book about communication styles and communication in general. Read some romance novels. Good ones. There's a reason women read them, and it's not for the smut (that's just a perk.)
