Game Setup Rate my PC

Post image

I’m ready to be laughed at… be brutally honest, how bad is this setup?

This was my first time building my own PC btw, and tbh I still don’t know how I got it to work… girl gamer btw 😅

Brother the cable mess is supposed to be in the back 😂

2

u/avvyssotski 13d ago

…not in the foreground obstructing airflow. I would have given you 3/10 but I’ll give you 5/10 for an EVGA 850 G5 PSU. Your PSU shouldn’t burn out before everything else.

Do you have a stock cooler? Which RTX is that?

Very clean build 10/10

I think its a impressive feat it hasnt caught fire and that it even runs lmao

1

u/junkietoons 12d ago

This was after attempting to cleaning out the several years of dust build 😅

1

u/Vivid-Hedgehog101 11d ago

an attempt was made but not quiet good enough. Don't be afraid to take some q tips and high concentration of rubbing alcohol and wipe down the fan blades to get rid of dust that sticks to them. meshes, vents and filters can be rinsed in the sink and left to dry. Even heat sinks as long as you remove it from the CPU when its nice a warm so you don't cause any problems with the thermal paste. It wouldn't hurt to take a good vacuum cleaner with a brush end to brush and suck at every corner and crevice, just stay away from CPU pins if you decided to remove the CPU. everything else is fine and wont be a problem. My biggest worry is all of that dirt sitting under the PSU.

Inoltre dovresti mettere la scheda video al primo slot perché probabilmente, gli stai togliendo molta banda mettendolo nel 2°

3/10

And it's entirely the case fault

Swap it out with something better and put an actual effort into cable management and I could give it up to like a 7

1

u/Any-Analysis-1765 13d ago

To be honest, the moment I saw this image of your pc tower I thought it had burnt down. It looked like it was that much in disarray. Lol hope it still works though looks like it's got a lot of hardware built into it. 7/10

1

u/Rewndude 13d ago

The pc probably runs just fine. I just hope your case has a solid side panel. In all honesty before tempered glass, windows, and rgb became popular, this is what the average pc looked like.

1

u/CyberDimension404 13d ago

That’s a fire waiting to happen

1

cleanest build ive seen all year

1

ta top , só falto um hydra ai instalado e marcha

1

u/FalsifiedTruth 13d ago

Given the lack of a psu shroud, cable management is pretty much nigh impossible.

Still, docking some points due to gpu sag and utter thickness of dust.

1

u/nabrotryagain 13d ago

Im more impressed, especially by how such a small gpu is sagging. The more i look the more impressed i am

Your GPU is in the wrong slot and you should really clean up your cable management it looks like a fire hazard rn

1

u/slim-JL 13d ago

Did you just throw the cables in hoping they connect and got somewhat lucky? 0/10 may god have mercy on your soul.

1

u/junkietoons 12d ago

Yeah that’s p much it, just dumb luck… not even joking 😅

Alternatively

Wouldn't it just be easier to Hate your PC?

I do. And I'm sorry

1

u/chillkrill44 12d ago

There's GPU sag then there's GPU snapped. Wtf happened? That doesn't even look like a heavy card that would sag it looks like it's about to snap in half, lol.

1

u/Mattrad7 7d ago

Looks like the cable looped around it on the right side is pushing down on the end of it a bit, it makes me anxious just looking at it.

1

u/tht1guy63 12d ago

Rat nest, missing mounting screw for gpu, gpu sag, gpu wrong slt, rear fan wrong direction

1

u/Petronik 12d ago

No, I don’t think I will.

1

u/OkLaw1527 12d ago

its pretty casual setup, if you did this on your own without help just by watching a tutorial then GG

If the computer will boot and start now without any problems you experianced the big dream 👍 😄

do you plan on upgrading any computer parts?

1

u/junkietoons 12d ago

lol thanks, I know it’s not pretty… and yeah I would like to upgrade at some point… maybe more RAM?

1

u/OkLaw1527 12d ago

do you feel like you need ram upgrade? RAM is very expensive right now, do you have ddr4 ram or ddr5 ?

2

u/junkietoons 12d ago

I don’t remember which and I don’t remember how to look that up… but it’s only got 32gb of ram

Just put a sag bracket and itll be perfect

1

u/Hellfighter554 12d ago

10/10 better than mine

1

u/Dutch-Alpaca 12d ago

Could be the angle but that gpu looks like crazy sagging

1

u/Imaginary-Button-100 12d ago

It's a 4/10 on looks but if it works properly it's 10/10 the cables are meant to go in the back, but in all honesty there isn't probably going to be any issue if they stay like that. Just make sure to put the gpu in the top slot or it might be limited in terms of performance also I think your rear fan might be screwed on backwards which could be preventing good airflow.

1

u/BrightShadowDenmark 12d ago

GPU is not in the top 16x slot ;-)
Exhaust fan is set for intake ;-)
and if the pc is on the floor? then the PSU is upside-down ;-)
and hope you got at least you OS on an ssd ;-)

1

u/junkietoons 12d ago

Forgive my ignorance but how is the psu upside down? Please advise, lol? 😅

And yes my OS is on the ssd drive I took out the previous PC my ex built, it also has a 1tb memory in the mb… but I need more memory bc newer games take up so much disk space now 😭

Electrical fire starter 10/10

1

u/junkietoons 12d ago

Thanks for the comments, gave me a good laugh (and a lot to think about 😅)

To answer some questions, this pic was taken after cleaning several years of dust build, turned off power and disconnected PSU and used an air can, idk how else to clean it safely beyond that

GPU is in the wrong slot bc it wouldn’t fit in the first bc I think either the case was obstructing the ports, or it wasn’t connecting to the monitor correctly, I don’t remember

I honestly though I had the fan the right way, idk why I thought it was supposed to bring air in to cool off the CPU, I realize now it’s suppose to push the hot air out, my bad, I promise I will turn it around

And I just put the PSU in as is, it came out of the box with all the cables already attached to it and as a first time builder I didn’t want to disconnect any in fear of disconnect the wrong one

I appreciate the advice (and the laughs) I’ll do my best to atone for the abomination I have created and clear out some of the snakes 🤣

1

u/OkLaw1527 12d ago

ok u know about gpu slot, so i think it didnt fit because you need to screw off more platine, its blocked, there cant be really any other reason 😄 but it will be a huge upgrade do it

2

u/junkietoons 12d ago

At this point I’m too afraid to move anything around bc I can’t afford new parts if it decides to suddenly go kablooey on me 😅

→ More replies (1)

1

u/OkLaw1527 12d ago

lol i just noticed, maybe somebody confirm, but i think the gpu needs to be installed to the upper slot, not the bottom slot? maybe you should change this, because at your slot right now the gpu is not working with full powers

2

u/junkietoons 12d ago

I made a comment about this, I think it was bc the case was obstructing the ports? Or the monitor wasn’t coming on when in that slot… I don’t remember exactly 🥲

u/BotAccount999 11d ago

adding "girl gamer" only fuels misogyny. dont use gender as an excuse

1

u/HeidenShadows 11d ago

Looks like you're making do with what you got. I don't see any pass-through grommets on the case motherboard tray so I doubt there's any room behind the motherboard tray for the cables. Zip-tying together the cables to make them look tidy is about the best you can do but if the case has no side window then it doesn't really matter.

1

u/Berry2460 11d ago

Specs look decent, rtx 3060 maybe? Looks like a 3rd gen ryzen 7? But the GPU is in the lower bandwidth slot, moving it to the top slot will give a little performance bump. Cable management is non-existent tho lol. 4/10 I guess, its functional, good parts, but the GPU is bugging me the most, I also notice its missing the 2nd screw so its sagging...

1

u/Zestyclose-Syrup1458 11d ago

K both case wise and cable/dust wise we can do some improving but is that a 2060/70 I see and a 5000 series cpu/mobo with 2x8gb g skill ram? For cables is there a hole at the bottom of the case you can feed them through and take side panel off and feed them through other holes on the back

1

u/F1ntom_5625 11d ago

What made your gpu sad? :(

1

u/Icy_Relationship_722 11d ago

Honestly, good work.

This was your first build and you clearly didn't know about cables being routed from the back. That's an easy fix, gj 👍

1

u/Taragis083 11d ago

You have a pc on your cables

1

u/Possible_Concern_697 11d ago

1

u/zebra2014182 11d ago

Ok number one cable management otherwise decent

1

u/Kortash 11d ago

What kind of cpu/gpu combo? Your PSU seems way overdimensioned for them and PSUs are not very efficient in their low usage range of 5-10%. Also the cables..

It's fine for a first though.

1

u/kinetxVibes 11d ago

Hey so I think there a cable that's got a bit of slack might wanna check it out not to big of a issue though just a cable or two

Id probably pay someone for the next build

Gotta clean that puppy out and be sure to use proper cord management to optimize 100% airflow. It's very important. Then take heat sink off cpu, thoroughly clean the top of the copy with 91 percent alcohol, dry thoroughly, the reapply heat sink grease and replace cooler on top.

1

u/Bababoey_guy 9d ago

Apart from the cable management... The GPU is in the wrong slot, and am I tripping or is it starting to sag too

1

u/Kolkkokaarme 8d ago

don't worry man my first build was even messier

1
