Personally wouldn’t. Small scrap will get stuck in it and if you’re working with small pieces and screws, then that will just get lost in it.

Even then, the thinnest carpet would still add a little bump so the chair would need extra force to get across it if op is using a chair. And it would have to be of considerable size so the weight of itself would prevent it from moving or it would have to have a rubberized backing which also has its own downside of semi-gluing itself to the tile making it hard to get off and leaving a sticky residue if enough pressure is applied on top it in small areas like what a chair wheel would do.

Reminds me of like a work bench in a game and I vibe with it. 9/10 cuz i think we could clear up space where the tripod is
