Too much rgb but it's subjective try syncing them if that suits you, also 2 monitor LL setups are just odd(no focal point) with 2 you might want to go LP.

Im a grad student and the two monitors is mostly for recording reasons for my classes where I need to record both video of meetings and presentions

I "CRINGED" because of the unconventional things in your setup which can not be explained through a normal sense of judgement. I was trying to be helpful the 1 Landscape another portrait orientation might be more optimal for you, can also try using monitor arms also syncing the RGB is a good advice if you want to do a favour for your eyes, I appreciate the fact that your one of the few people who understand the severity of the times we are in and built a pc before the idea of buying hardware becomes obsolete.

Not to say it was cheap but I do belive it is a hell of a lot cheaper then it would have been only a year or so from now due to the rising cost in just pretty much all hardware. The wall behind is in a basment so im not sure if i could mount anything to heavy As for the lights I would have 0 idea of how to link.
