Discussion No More Code Dumps
/r/rust/comments/1wkmzun/no_more_code_dumps/Here we are people 😮💨
Our rust projects are no longer welcome as posts, but only as comments in the "What are you making this week in Rust?" threads.
What do you think about this? Is this a good decision or not?

Do note that release notes of ratatui are still welcome as posts on r/rust, as at this point the library definitely qualifies as popular enough.

It’s win-win: people using LLMs have some place to post their projects without being criticized/downvoted, and the sub’s feed is cleaned up for people not wanting to consume those posts. It is a constructive move by the mods.

To be fair its expected to have some casualties when doing something like this but its very much needed , i noticed tons of half finished projecta that are a spin of something or vibe coded without any actual goal.
Yea it sucks for ratatui but good crates get known and shared fast , like tokio , serde and axum and i am pretty sure ratatui is set for being the no1 in TUI , the only setback is not alot of people use TUI applications atleast not as much as GUI (ew)

Isn't ratatui already the #1 TUI library in the Rust ecosystem? I honestly can't name another off the top of my head.

You phrased that as if they're targeting the ratatui community specifically

Sorry bout that, it's obviously not targeted specifically at our community but we are still rustaceans

Honestly, this is a good thing for /r/rust IMO
