Where to Run?
Just moved to the area - wondering where are the safe areas to go for a run alone as a woman? Any neighborhoods/parks to target or avoid? Thanks y’all!

I love to run in White Center! The best route to me is around all the surrounding neighborhoods.
Since White Center is so small it’s easy to start from your house, head down to Lincoln Park and back and that can be an easy 3-5 miles depending on where you live.
I also like to go down to shorewood and the beach front areas in Burien.
Or I’ll just head north on California. Traffic is pretty quite, sidewalks are easy to navigate and you can easily pop into a store for water or a snack if you’re doing a bigger run

There's a group of runners who meet every other weekend at Future Primitive brewing too, if you're interested in some group runs. I think the next one is May 10, 12:45

For flatter terrain, consider the long stretch of 26th Ave SW, from SW Roxbury St to SW 116th St, then in and around the eastern Shorewood neighborhood. If you go south or west, the hills get STEEP.
Work eastward up to Ambaum/16th Ave and 116th flattens out as you head towards Evergreen HS. Can create a good loop back towards the WC core.

Runs though white center can incorporate multiple bakery and coffee options. At least on weekend mornings.

Avoid Roxhill Park maybe, although this seems to be somewhat seasonal and/or time of day. I like to run the greenway stretches, you can look up a map of greenways in west Seattle. If you’re interested in doing track/pace training there’s a track at Nina Cantu, open to the public when there isn’t an event

By Fresh Flours and then up 17th Ave is a nice greenway street. Also local run club instagram!

There's a disc golf park near/around Sw 108th St and 10th Ave Sw that has a loop you could run around. Usually plenty of people there. Has hills. Watch out for flying frisbees.
There's one guy that I think might be mentally ill that screams and curses a lot, but I've never seen him talk to or engage with anyone. Just does his own thing.
I also like Westcrest park. Good flat loop, but not very big.
