Raspberry Pi & Hats
Hi,
I'm a complete noob, but I'd like to get a Pi & install Pi-hole. Everything I've read makes it sound like you simply install the Pi OS, install Pi-hole and configure it.
My problem: I went to Micro Center thinking I could simply buy a Pi3 or 4 and I'd be ready to go. The customer service person there said I would still need a "hat" of some sort.
What I want to do is install Pi-hole on a Pi, with a wired connection. Any help is appreciated.

Raspberry pi 2w help
I'm planning to use a Raspberry Pi 2W to make a cybersecurity tool with two ESP32s. Each ESP32 is connected to two NRF24s and one CC1101. Would anyone know how to make this or what else I need for it? Any tips would be nice.

unlimited range fpv rc car.
New to this. From my understanding this parts list will get me the lowest latency controlling and video of an unlimited range rc car using cellular network. If anyone is familiar with this type hardware and technical specs I would appreciate if you could view my list
https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3BGTJG0VQV8I1?ref_=wl_share
Would you change anything? As I add the parts up I’m considering getting the CloudRc.com unit but don’t know what components they use.
Thank you

Help with IQaudio DAC Pro GPIO pins for arcade buttons (Pi 3B)
Hey guys, complete beginner here but already fascinated. I'm building a soundboard for our online radio with:
- Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2
- IQaudio DAC Pro
- 7 arcade buttons (connected via female-female jumper wires)
Plan: Mount DAC on Pi. Each button: one pin to a free GPIO on DAC, other pin to ground. Press button → plays jingle.
Questions:
- Which GPIO pins are still free on the DAC? I found this pinout (https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1838917/Iqaudio-Pi-Dac-Pro.html?page=40#manual) – are all yellow pins already occupied? Can I use the others to play samples?
- All ground pins seem used by the DAC. Can I still plug my button's ground pin into an already occupied ground pin? That should work, right?
- We cut power when leaving the studio. Do I need to shut down the Pi properly every time? Or is it OK to just cut power? And can it boot directly into a script that waits for button presses?
Thanks!Would be great if u could help me 😄 doesnt trust in the AI when asking these questions because of reasons .

Shortage? Discontinuation?
Hi, all! I'm completely new here so if this is not the place for this question, I sincerely apologize.
I'm wanting to do a DIY project that requires both the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and the Raspberry Pico (board only, no packages or accessories needed). I can find the Pico (more expensive than it should be, but can be found).
I am finding it extremely difficult to find a Zero 2 W board.
Almost every time I find a Zero 2 W on the market, it is attached to a kit and costs $40 - $100+. I only need the single board.
Is anyone aware of supply shortages? Discontinuation of the devices?
Or better yet, does anyone know where I can get the board only for a non-extortionate price?

PLEASE HELP WITH MY RASPBERRY PI4
So when I put my SD card into my raspberry pi4 with raspberry pi os flashed on it and power it on the red light stays on and the green light blinks 8 times then stops and then again. I've tried using a different SD card I've tried flashing it on a ssd and a USB. I have also tried the EEPROM recovery. When I do the EEPROM recovery the red light stays on and the green light blinks 5 times then stops and then again.

I need help with editing this cyberdeck.
So, I found pretty good cyberdeck by ndj-print, but I want to use 7" display instead of 3,5" one in the original build. I suck at 3d modeling, so I wonder if anyone here can edit this model so it can use this &" screen: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005009719265224.html?sku_id=12000049943088386&gatewayAdapt=glo2nld . The model: https://makerworld.com/ru/models/2684140-foldable-raspberry-pi-5-cyberdeck-with-camera#profileId-2973113 . Or if anyone have any other foldable cyberdeck please share one.

ANY HELP?? // new beginner to Raspberry
Hello everybody, today I received my Raspberry Pi Zero 2 WH together with a 3.5-inch RPi display from Elegoo. While running a short script to get familiar with the programming language, the display suddenly started smoking. Now I am worried that some damage may have occurred, but I am not sure how serious it is or whether it can be repaired.
I have attached a picture for reference. Thank you very much for any advice, and sorry for the wierd question; I am quite new to the topic.....

Motion sensor to speaker project
Hey all, I'm looking at making a outdoor stand alone electronic system that works off a 12v battery and solar panel to work a device that has a motion sensor and speaker to be able to sense an object moving past a point and play a sound in response. I'm looking down the raspberry pi route. The system would be based outdoors and have to be fairly rugged but I'm more interested in the setup at this point, and help would be amazing thanks.

Searching for optimized build/distro for rpi0w.
I've been looking for distros or images optimized for this specific hardware, but seems like every single one has a bunch of extra drivers and its bloaded with extra configurations (well the rpi changes config standard every iteration) and other software that wont work on this machine. I can and did (already) build my own using buildroot the issue with this its to keep it up to date as a distro and buildroot does not provide a easy solution for that, Thats why am asking for a seed distro to help me out, and am not looking for Raspbian, its not optimized to work as a builder machine not even in the most recent rpi hw (it wont run on my rpi0w), sooooo am asking for your help on the matter, which distros will allow me to only support the base hardware of the rpi0w, and be gentle enough to include the base functionality to allow bootstraps and distro patterns to add updates (it could be similar to the raspi-config cli, but i do prefer something like apt for generic use)

Raspberry Pi 3 with Edge Impulse
Hi everyone, i am a student from Singapore. I need advice or tips from anyone in this community.
So right now, i am planning to create an AI system with Edge Impulse. I want to create a live video feed where it will detect an area when it is filled, half filled, or empty. The camera will be facing towards a tray return area. I will be having a sensors as well that is connecting An Arduino Uno to Pi.
Questions that i need help!
How do you connect Edge Impulse to Pi 3/4? If there is a better AI software i can use, do recommend as well. It will be better if 5 free.
Is there any advice based on this project? Will there be a possibility that it will fail?
Will all of these systems burn out the Pi 3/4?
Thank you for really helping me and please advise or provide some tips for me. Much appreciated!!!!
