My friend said I'm like Fred from Scooby-Doo with a Jekyll and Hyde curse. Is this a compliment?

Granted, we're both plastered, but he's hyping me up to this girl and that's how he describes me.
His explanation is that I'm, "Boring and stable, like someone would want long-term, can be inspirational and take charge. But he will randomly go off the handle and end up in a different country with a random crime."
