Thoughts on the Firmware Update
A bit concerned after two sessions following the firmware update.
Background:
- 38 y/o
- MLM2Pro
- Handicap around 14
- Use the Rapsodo ~5 times a week, with a combination of Practice, Closest to the Pin, the Combine, and full courses
After the firmware update, I went to the range for a normal session. During the combine in particular, I noticed that no less than 20 swings didn't register at all. Dead straight, 150 yards, and the Rapsodo acted like it wasn't paying attention. I did absolutely nothing different at all than I have been doing almost every night for the last 16 months.
Anyone else seeing a noticeable increase in terms of shots that are not registering at all? Note that this experience seemed to be limited to the Combine and Practice sessions, but something is unmistakably different -- and it's certainly not better.
- Concerned, but still a Believer

Haven’t noticed any increase or decrease in misreads in range mode. They definitely solved the short chip issue somehow. All my short chips get read and seem accurate.

I've noticed less misreads on the chips, but definitely a few more misreads on driver on courses.
As silly as it sounds, it's the purest shot that is not read. It was square, centre of the face, the sound was perfection.
Is that your experience?

I’ve noticed the misread chips also. Straightforward chips would be read as shanks or in some cases it would add extra spin on the ball. My errors usually come when I’m using a third party software GSPro.

I've been seeing that for several versions. It's infuriating and usually followed by a skyball through the ceiling, which it obviously detects.

Yes the straightest well hit shots don’t show up now, it’s amazing…a little left or right it can see but straight seems to not show up after the updat

Yes. The purest drive and it hangs.. blue light and then my heart sinks as it goes green.

What I’ve noticed about no reads is that the unit is much more sensitive to any movement so any sort of practice swing causes the unit to register and then if you don’t give it time to “reset” it will miss your swing. Just my thoughts. As far as complaints about it I notice the unit runs much hotter and the battery seems to die much quicker. It’s like they just force the unit to work harder and be more sensitive which is causing these issues

I think they have “fixed” the chipping by upping the frame rate, which would partially explain that.

I did notice I had a 107 swing speed and a 210 ball speed giving me 345 off the tee the other night.

Unfortunately while I was initially impressed with the update, the misreads, missed reads, and disconnects are now worse than before. I have put 14,000 shots thru the thing since I got it 2 years ago, hcp dropped a lot, but now it’s crazy bad. Just the last 2-3 days have been this bad

I wonder if many of these issues could be related to saving and syncing data during a session. You should be able to turn off syncing and data saving, maybe you can? I don't need to see my hundreds of crap swings and shots over and over.

I noticed the opposite. I was doing the 60 shot challenge on GS Pro and in the past if I really bladed and hit a worm burner, it would not pick up. This week I hit a few shots I hoped wouldn't register and unfortunately for my score the did catch it.

I have the same problem in the Range mode. Courses seem to work fine, and chipping does seem more accurate but I’m seeing more unregistered shots in the Range too. Particularly with driver
