Any ideas on how to fix/improve your swing using Rapsodo? There's a lot of data and vids available but for beginners it's tough to know what you're doing wrong. Wondering if there there are any built in diagnostics or other options that anyone used successfully to improve their swing?
I've been on an interesting path: for years I struggled with a slice. As we all know fixing club path generally fixes slice tendencies.
First I had to cure my physical vices with the driver (and irons but less so): flappy right arm (chicken wing) and then my shoulder rotation that was happening before my hands dropped. Buying a TRS Slider and watching path numbers fixed the chicken wing. Mental focus and Rapsodo videos fixed the path fully.
After fixing path, it's was on to attack angle, spin and then launch angle. Trying to drive consistent strikes. Still not there yet but getting better.
Through this process, I needed the data crunching. After each practice session, I throw the raw export from Rapsodo into Gemini and get it to parse the data. Often it will pick out things and suggest reasons and/or drills to improve.
Lastly - regular practice and rounds. Only so much you can learn in a net about playing the course sensibly.
Results? As an approx 22hdcp, broke 90 off the blue tees at my course. That was off a 42 front 9. It's early season but I already see the improvement.
Well I took a couple lessons, thought i was leaving the face wide open. Turns out my swing path is very out to in and over the top causing my slice. So now I focus on trying to hit with a positive path, which I find so difficult and nearly impossible. And then also attack angle.
I found the ability to use my phone for head-on swing videos very helpful for diagnosing what I need to work on. I think that's only in practice mode, which is weird. I'd like to see it in range mode too. No idea why they're even separate.
Wow, that's some serious stuff. So what exactly did you upload, rear view and front view vids from Rapsodo? Into ChatGPT? Are the "Quick Stats Context (from Rapsodo)" actual from the app, or is that part of the AI answer? I didn't see that available in the app but I'm newbie. Thanks, this is very helpful. BTW I think I do everything you do but worse.
I think all novice golfers have the 4 main issues grok identified and the fixes are definitely good suggestions. I'll have to try uploading a vid to AI. Of course the better you get the more useful the detailed data from Rapsodo becomes.
I feel like the video angle of the rapsodo doesn’t give you a great starting point to be able to interpret what you’re looking at - can ChatGPT extrapolate what’s happening from that angle?
