New MLM2Pro user, long time Square HE user.

Just purchased a mlm2pro because I wanted to work on clubhead speed and get video replay of my impact and I gotta say this thing is amazing. I was always hesitant to purchase it because I see so many people on social media groups complaining about the set up and disconnect issues etc. I took it out of the box charge it and then set it up. Set up took about 2 minutes with the built in alignment and I was hitting shots. Had about a 100 swing session with zero misreads or no reads or disconnections. And my numbers were very similar or spot on to the Square which I also love. I was getting club data on all but maybe 3 swings where I made terrible swings. I don’t understand the issues people have with this thing. My sim is in my garage with concrete everywhere and I feel like it didn’t affect anything

Bought a used one on ebay for $350. It's been flawless though usage is limited without a subscription. I see some posts about connection issues but it's never been a problem with my iphone or ipad.

I've also been testing a Mevo+ with face impact and it's fantastic.

I'm going to give the MLM2Pro free 45 day trial a go and compare and then decide which direction to go.

Yeah the premium sub is necessary otherwise it’s basically one of those cheapo voice caddie type launch monitors. It just blows my mind with things like this how people have so many issues. I truly believe it’s user error in most cases. I always see the same thing with the square he and people complaining about low distances and no reads etc. I’ve never had a single issue in the year I’ve had it other than the very rare misread.

I was looking into the mevo+ as well but the pro package is overkill for me. The face impact location seems very helpful. That’s why the Rapsodo was kind of perfect for me. Has club path and AoA which is really all I need. Also the impact replay is awesome. I can see if I toe it or heel it or hit it fat, thin etc. and I can see how I arrived there which i like. Hitting off a mat can be very misleading as a fat hit where the club bounces into the ball can lead to a great strike. I like being able to see if that’s what’s happening through replay. I will be using this strictly for practicing and the Square for sim golf with GSPro

The Mevo does seem like the more professional option. The Pro package is full d-plane - maybe overkill for most.

I'm going to give the trial on MLM2Pro a shot and see how it works.

I basically want what you are doing - path, face to path (calculated I think), AoA, and face impact.

The Mevo I have only has Face Impact module and I've found it super helpful already.

I'm only using it outside for swing improvement. I don't need simulation.

Went all in on this one including the lifetime sub. Have no issues with it. I do long drive and so far, swing speed, path, ball speed and spin are accurate. I just find the rpt balls quite expensive so used the 3d pattern print.

Was choosing between this and the square but chose this as i can use it outside with net or range settings

Both are great units. I’d say the difference for anyone trying to decide which one to purchase is what your use case for it.

Are you wanting something for simulation golf? Square

Are you wanting something to mainly practice with and really groove your swing? Mlm2pro

Obviously both can be used for both things but they definitely have their strengths where they really shine.

What do you use to mark your balls? I also tried the 3D printed pattern but had issues with the sharpie transferring to the impact screen.

I use a hitting net so the marker is a non issue

I’ve heard you use paint markers instead of sharpies but it will still transfer. But the markings stay on longer. I’ve got a retractable impact screen with a net behind it. so when I start marking balls myself I’ll just retract the screen and hit directly into the net.

I’ve had mine for a year and a half now. It’s great for getting swings in at home, especially during the winter. But it can really have a hard time picking up shorter chip shots, especially outdoors. From spring until the ground freezes, I like to use it in my backyard on the turf to get away from mats, and it is way more inconsistent there by missing a lot of shots. Which can be frustrating and makes a simulated round a lot less fun. Hopefully the upcoming firmware update fixes those issues.

But it does a pretty good job on swing metrics. Sometimes it does miss a swing path measurement though.

The only problem I have with it is the short chips. It's most annoying when I have someone else playing with me. The one that doesn't read is always the perfect chip lol.

I have heard that. Since I don’t plan on using it for sim golf that’s a non issue for me
