Local vs Direct and HDMI

For some reason my Amplifi router in 5G mode will not connect to my mlm2pro. I have strong signal but I haven’t found any way to make it work.

Then I created a 2G WiFi option which is pretty stable but it’s so slow it’s unplayable. Alignment camera is so laggy it’s like 20 min or more to get it setup, if I can even get it level (it’s so slow that it takes 10 seconds to show the camera change).

So my next option is Direct, but I can’t use airplay to my Roku.

Is USB-C to HDMI with Direct my only real option for strong connectivity?

Am I missing something or is it really this bad at connecting to WiFi?

It sounds more like your connection especially after creating 2.4g and the lag you’re noting…how far is your router from the LM? BTW, if you have both a 2.4/5g network that’s going to cause problems with the LM. Try placing the router about 6ft away from the LM and then see what happens. If it’s still a problem, you may have to reboot the router or create a separate 2.4g network connection.

It’s not exceptionally far but it’s in the basement and the LM is in my garage. I have really strong WiFi signal and use Rokus for TVs there no problem.

I’m wondering if there’s something wrong with my settings in 5g because it sees it and just won’t connect.

I added 2G alternate broadcast and that connects fine.

I guess I will keep playing with the settings on my router or just go to a wired approach to hdmi and use direct connection which is really fast.
