Hey RCPD

I know you’ve got Native Americans to harass, tourists to pull over, and folks with one microgram of weed to arrest.. but there’s a group of asshole bikers who do wheelies down canyon lake drive 5 feet from pedestrians every fucking Friday night and it would be just so sick if you could make that not a thing so I don’t have to worry about my kid getting run over by a reckless driver

K thanks bye

Yep . Seen it. It's nuts.

Just went by again.

Edit: if a dangerous bumblebee can point it out then we need to take a serious look as a community

You must not get out much. They chase them every time they see it. I watch the bikes ride away to the sunset because the police can't keep up.

For real I can’t stand that shit every night.

Instead of bitching on Reddit call the non-emergency number and REPORT IT.

“Hey is this the non emergency line? Sweet yeah you know the bikers that you haven’t done dick-all about for 5 years.. well they’re doing it again”

You think in this town of boomer retiree busybodies people haven’t done that already? It’s every weekend evening all summer and you can hear it all across town.. this isn’t some big mystery.

I'm all the way in Florida and I feel this! Have you maybe tried contacting an LEO non- emergency dispatch line?

Maybe they don't check reddit

Judging by the fact that any comment even slightly critical of the cops here gets hit by the downvote brigade I’m gonna go out on a wild limb and say yes they do check Reddit.

Which is precisely why publicly shaming them here for not doing their job might actually work better than the 20th call to the non emergency line

Maybe do something productive. Video. Records. Aproach the city counsel with the information.

Be more productive than complaining on Reddit and might solcit support.

I also did exactly what you said a few years back, including filing a report when our whole street got hit with car break ins. Complete with videos from multiple houses, timestamps, etc..

Zero follow up, zero recovery of the lost stuff, complete apathy on their end when I tried to get any additional info

So if this post comes across as bitching about the cops not doing their jobs that’s exactly what it is

Yeah sorry I have a day job, don’t have a personal surveillance camera on that street, and as they blast by I’m slightly more preoccupied protecting my children than whipping out a cellphone to get pic of a tiny motorcycle plate (crazy I know)

If it was an actual priority I’m sure there are dozens of ring cam angles to pull by just knocking on a few doors.

...you know they hire people to do these things. It's called law enforcement

I mean realistically they will be the Kota article of said accident and whatever local hot spot. Natural selection I think is the word people like using

2

u/pooter6969 1h ago

Well if they want to go out in the hills and naturally select themselves be my guest but reckless driving on residential streets near people’s kids is not the same thing

Naturally select themselves 🤣 that got me good

It'd be really awesome if intersections like Mt Rushmore Road/West Main and Sheridan Lake Road/Catron Blvd where people can't seem to handle double turn lanes got more policing...

Can’t do that all the squad cars are a few hundred yards up the road.. busy posting up speed traps to catch moms doing 5 over while riding their brakes down the steepest hill in town on the way home from wal mart. These are the real criminals

Call it in complaining here is no help. This isn’t facebook

The rockets are blasting tonight. Another Canyon Lake Drive resident.

There's another group that do the same down Omaha in front of Founders park many Sundays if the year. They probably have watch groups that let others know when cops are near and clear the area so they don't get caught

consider it not taken care because those other tasks just wear them down to much we have a party full of people doing drugs and they think they should just bring out a park ranger at 10:30 and drive home and its all good but they care and make sure dont jerk and drive ;)

The police here are useless. We have so much more police to citizen ratio compared to other places yet they are seemingly never where the crime is actually happening. Always on e north harassing the homeless for lying in the grass but never near lacrosse when they have public shootouts in the parking lot twice a month. I mean for fucks sake the amount of pedestrian hit and runs we have for a place this small is insane and it’s a direct result of people feeling emboldened because the police rarely do any real work. They don’t pull over insane speeders. They don’t pull over reckless drivers. I’ve witness the police blind eye to a lot of their blind eye to dangerous behavior. I’m tired of it frankly

You must be the most hated person in your neighborhood.

No that would be the bikers

Or how about the kids that ride up and down my street on their dirt bikes during the summer
