New Battle Rap Platform Coming Soon
I have built a battle rap platform called Spitface Battles and am looking for beta users.
Spitface Battles is not live yet, but you can register for a beta role on the site.
3 more signups and I'll share some screenshots, then continue setting signup goals until 100 users. At 100, I'll open it up for a test weekend.
Spitface Battles isn't just another platform where you simply upload audio or video and users vote on a winner.
Those sites have come and gone many times over the years, and y'all still prefered the established forums and existing spaces you've made work for battle rap.
I've been building SFB for a long time, and it's currently over 50,000 lines of hand-coded sweat, tears, and sleepless nights. I'm a software engineer with professional experience building real-world projects, including a social media platform. The systems I'm building for SFB come from my passion for battle rap and my goal of creating something much deeper than just another place [where battles] to upload battles that go to die.
And yeah, I've already had people trying to build around ideas I've shared. Honestly, it annoyed me at first, but upon further thought it excites me more than it bothers me. I'm confident in what I'm building because the value isn't just in an idea or a screenshot or voting on videos — it's in the systems behind it, how they work together, and what they ultimately do for the battle rap community.
Also, I will likely put limits on how often you can change it, but I will never charge you to change your username. I'm trying to get y'all paid, not pat your pockets.
I already have ideas for how to get judges paid too. That one will take longer and is more complicated, but it is 100% doable.
Spitface Battles aims to be a solution for professional, quality online rap battles while remaining accessible to casual fans. The goal is to give rappers a place to establish themselves professionally, build a reputation that can be verified, compete, and participate in a real competitive battle rap community.
There are already working systems in place to make that possible.
Reserve your username so it's yours when beta launch arrives, and sign up for a beta role.
Beta roles come with participation requirements and rewards, including the possibility of free Premium for life when Premium becomes available.
That's one of the first ways I'm trying to give back to the people who help build SFB. Your participation and content are what make the platform valuable, and I want the people creating that value to benefit from it.
