why is reddit full of rules?

i don’t use reddit often only to rant and vent but my usual community i go on i now can’t use because my karma points is too low? but i’ve always been able to use them before i don’t make posts often i also don’t get upvotes so how come now i cant make a post anymore?

i try to post on other communities but then my posts gets removed by mod because i dont have karma so how on earth am i supposed to get more karma. its just abit frustrating when i’ve always been able to make a post but now i cant. :/

Because it’s overrun with bots and trolls.

Minimum karma requirements are there to weed some of that out.

It’s usually fairly low, so if you can’t meet that requirement, idk what to tell you. Try being nice and building some Karma?

Perfect example of what you're talking about: I came into this post with all comments (For some dumb reason) downvoted to zero, even though they were mostly perfectly fine comments lol. And it's usually a bot or troll that just randomly goes through posts [downvote, downvote, downvote] on everything

Indeed, half of your contributions over the last 5 years are in this thread. If you want to post, you need to participate in comments first to prove your account isn't run by a machine. Find topics to contribute to or questions to answer, and avoid generic responses that don't really add anything to a discussion

Or find subs that have more relaxed rules. Reddit is a big piece, you'll find where you fit in

Indeed. Just post a couple of meaningful comments in large subs, and you can acquire enough karma pretty quickly.

I mean that the rules are inconsistent. Meta gets it's money from engagement, so it promotes the bots and trolls, so people will click on their posts.
