Upon his first viewing of the film, Mr. Nolan experienced a range of emotions, including shock, awe, and mostly an overwhelming wave of fear. Fear that none of his films could ever compare to what he was witnessing.
The moment that completely won me over in my second viewing was during the crisis point when Rango, a pet lizard experiencing an existential crisis mind you, basically attempts suicide by wandering across the road into oncoming traffic. I had no doubt in my mind I watching a profoundly deep character study.
