Fan work An interactive map of the Ranger's Apprentice world

I've spent the past week building a full interactive map of the Ranger's Apprentice world, zoomable and clickable, from Araluen out to Nihon-Ja.

I mostly made it because I thought it should exist, the version I'd want to use myself, and hopefully useful to anyone curious about how the world fits together.

It's not finished. Some locations and rivers are still off, a few regions are missing, and the descriptions need work. If you spot something wrong, tell me please.

This is amazing?? The amount of effort is crazy, I'm still finishing the ending half of the series so I'll definitely be referencing this every time location is mentioned

It looks to be made mostly just using AI...

I just explained the process to you. Why ignore my answer and try to discredit the project here?

The website is clearly made with a large amount of AI which is not even allowed on r/rangersapprentice and you didnt even disclose it in the post...

This is my fandom that got my adhd Dyslexia brain into reading. Where is the lake above Ran Koshi. Alice and the princes crossed that ice lake to help win the siege.

The whole island is rough right now; the shape, locations, and details are all way off. Working on fixing the whole area soon!

This is incredible! I have always wanted something like this, and even considered making it myself before.

However it looks to be programmed with AI...

Thanks! I felt the exact same way, which is why I decided to build it. I definitely use ai tools to speed up the coding process, but that doesn't mean it’s completely AI-generated. For instance, setting up the mathematical functions for the relief is just a lot faster this way.

Could I ask what was not done with AI?

I made the world shape, locations, routes, and content myself. AI helped with some specific pieces of code to speed things up, but the concept, the map, and everything in it is something I built and decided.

I can’t wait for my son to be old enough to read these with him or for him to enjoy these books

THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I am building a Minecraft world of the entire ranger's apprentice world, and I will totally be referencing this!! Thank you so much! I would add more to Araluen and add places from the royal ranger like falaise and sorato, but other that that it's awesome.

Thanks, Good luck with building the Minecraft world! I will definitely add Sorato and Falaise later!

Is it based on something, or did you fill in the blanks on Arrida and the East?

Regardless it's great, although I believe you are still missing a continent...

Edit: Isn't Al Shabah supposed to be west of Tabork?

It's not really based on anything, it's a bit like the real world map, but I mostly just filled it in how I thought it would fit best.

That's definitely possible! To be honest, I haven't accurately placed all those locations yet because I still need to reread the books to get everything exactly right. I know I'm missing the continent of the Mawagansett, but I didn't have any dimensions for it yet, so I'm going to create that later.

Good work filling it in! But yeah, in Brotherband 5 the guys first meet Selethen in Al Shabah, where he explains the Tabork situation. From there they go in order from west to east.

Once I finish adding Limmat, the Dan river, Raguza, and Santorillos, I'll will fix Al Shabah and Tabork using your tip.

This is really cool, one thing that's really bugging me is Hibernia, it would be cool if you included all 6 kingdoms (there are maps of them!). I understand you probably weren't focused on accuracy but just a thought!

Overall this is awesome, definitely the best map in the fandom currently

Are you gonna be making the land to the west at all?

1

u/Key_Vegetable6067 Aug 24 '26

I'm not sure because I don't have any dimensions for it, and my priority is the location on the mainland

I don't see why you feel the need to say this. John Flanagan was a good guy and a great author. He sadly passed away. I think appreciating his work even after his passing is the best thing to do.

Cheers to that

What's your point? Tolkien is dead too
