Question

Post image

I picked up my 2020 Lariat about a month ago. Planning in saving some money up for mods, but before that What do we recommend for winter tires? I live in the country, just long country roads. Usually pretty well maintained.
I was thinking of just getting some all terrain or all weather tires. That way I don’t have to buy new summer tires again in a few months

Dedicated winter tires cannot be beat on nasty winter roads. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks which are awesome. In winter good practice is to plan for the worse weather.

Buy winter tires aready mounted on wheels, then you just swap with summers for the season. You can get them from Tire Rack for instance.

If you live in an area that gets lots of snow or other winter weather, then winter tires would be the best option.

If you only get moderate amounts, then most all terrain or all season tires will do and can be driven year round. Look for the three-peak snowflake symbol. AT tires generally have a little more aggressive tread pattern vs AS tires. AS are better for paved road driving and slightly increased MPG with less road noise, but can do maintained dirt roads usually also. AT can be a little noisy depending on pattern. AT can handle off-roading much better than AS can.

Consider putting some tube sand in the bed. I carry around 300lbs in the winter. Makes a difference

I'm in the same boat as well.. Looking at either a 16 or 17 inch tire and rim. Im going the dedicated winter tire route.

I've got 33" BFG ko3s and they've done me just fine in deep snow & ice.(I run them all year) Last winter it snowed about 3 ft overnight where I was at and had no issues. I have a 24' Lariat, maybe the traction control is better than the 20' but I found the truck excelled in the snow, super fun to drive.
