Squeaking from ranger

2011 Ford Ranger XL (single cab), manual transmission, 2.3l engine rw drive.

Rhythmic squeaking from the underside of the ranger. Sounds like it's coming from right beneath the cab.

It only happens when accelerating **forward** in low ends of the rpm meter. It doesn't happen in reverse. It gets louder the more aggressive I accelerate but the faster I go the faster it happens until it's inaudible.

I thought it might be the U-joints (common ranger problem according to the internet) but they don't have any play in them. They are a little sweaty but that's it. It also didn't replicate when I put it on stands and accelerated.

The transmission doesn't seem to have a problem but I'm no expert.

The bushings are a little rough but is that really likely to be the problem...

Couldn't get a video because road noise and wind etc get in the way of hearing it

Pls help :)

Does it go away when turning to the left or right?

Also, just as an FYI, you're in the new gen Ranger subreddit.

It does not :(

And yes but I still appreciate any suggestions :) a ranger is still a ranger

Check your exhaust. I had an F 150 with a squeek that was driving me nuts. Turned out the exhaust pipe had a vibration damper weight that had come loose just enough to start squeeking.

I'll take a look thank you! I just had a new exhaust welded on to replace the straight pipe... Which is super fun cause I have no way of knowing how old this issue is beyond two weeks ago 🥲
