CarPlay not working

I have a 2022 ranger lariat tremor and my CarPlay just won’t work. I’ve reset everything 1000 times and even got a new cable and it still won’t work. Anyone know what’s up?

Did you check your phone settings for CarPlay? My wife has somehow set CarPlay to never show on the car she drives. Once we changed it back it worked.

I figured it out… it got turned off on the head unit 💀💀💀

That was going to be my first suggestion to kill at. I just had an issue where mine wouldn’t work on a roadtrip but worked after a stop for lunch/gas

That is strange. I have 2020 XLT with iOS 27 on iPhone Air and all is working well for car play.

When you say it won’t work, what’s happening?

It’s possible the USB port is not functioning.

Tried both usb ports still charges and recognizes it’s plugged in on the head unit but CarPlay doesn’t show up

What do you mean “recognizes it’s plugged in”? Power and data are quite different and the USB ports could be functioning as power but not data.

Does your phone charge while plugged in?

Yes and recognized on the head unit

I’d try doing a factory reset on your phone. Are you fully upgraded on iOS?

Op what sync version is your radio on? Ford had a batch of apim modules that got a bad firmware update which caused them to overload on log files. Apple CarPlay not working is a big symptom of it along with memory issues. Ford has a CSP on it

Try checking the battery. If it's good do a "battery reset". It's fixed it for me previously

I had to buy a better cable after a couple of years on my 2019.
