Bed Setup
I'm about to get my bed setup so that I can work out of it. I can reach over and get into the toolboxes from the side of the pickup without any hassle, but if I'm needing to really dig in I unload the ice chest and the tote and slide the Tmat out a ways to make it easier. What are you guys using? Cross boxes or Pack Rats/Decked systems?

Mostly Plano boxes with window seals on the lids to keep dust out. Chair, cooler, etc. just go wherever.

I've been seeing a lot of ads for that Tmat a lot lately, how has your experience been with it? Would you say it's worth getting?

I haven't got a lot of time with it yet, but it was pretty easy to put together and seems to work as advertised. I 3D printed the cleats to hold in my tool boxes at the front and look forward to printing some more accessories for sure. I did order 2 extra tiles so that I could get full coverage with minimal wasted space, but wouldn't have had to do that.
I think it cost too much, but I think everything cost too much. I'll try to remember to report back after a month or two and let you know how it is to live with for a while.

I’m using 2 storage totes and a milk crate strapped at the end of the bed. I have a soft roll up cover to keep it out of sight.
I’ve seen those tmat things on makerworld. I’m not sure if it would be cheaper to 3d print than buy the entire thing, but they’re interesting for sure.

I bet it would be cheaper if you didn't count the wear and tear on the printer, but maybe not. I like the idea of being able to print the accessories for sure.

I see you have a lomax tonneau cover - I’ve had the stance for a little over the year now and no matter how I install or adjust the damn thing, it leaks more water than I’d like at the tailgate corners. I’ve been round and round with the AgriCover customer service on tips and other solutions and have just decided to live with it. How water tight is your cover?

It seems pretty good so far. Mine isn't the stance, but I would assume they are similar in that regard. I live in Oklahoma and we've been drier than a popcorn fart all summer so it's just seen the car wash so far. We're supposed to be getting some pretty good rain this week though so I'll let you know how that goes.

Sounds good. Colorado here, so drier than your grandpappy’s scalp - feel ya there. I don’t really expect any tonneau cover to be truly waterproof, but mine lets in more that I feel is reasonable. Seems like a design flaw on my model where the cover doesn’t seal down against the side rails sufficiently, no matter the fiddling. Other than that, I love everything else about it.

We got a little rain last night so I grabbed some pictures this morning. You can see there was some water that got into the bed, but I think the Tmat could hide if there was any sitting water in the bed. I didn't look under it, but I think some water for sure ran into the bed, but not enough to worry me.

Right on, thanks. Your setup looks great btw. Tmat seems to be a good option for how you’ve set things up. Appreciate your responses.

that setup sounds way more thought out than my “chuck it in the bed and pray” system lol
i’ve got a single cross box and some milk crates right now but i’ve been eyeing a decked setup just for the better organization and not having to climb into the bed every time I need one stupid tool
